Apologies for the wind noise in this video. It was filmed on location at Vitkov Hill, Zizka's greatest triumph. More on that soon!

Hello, just few details. In graphics (0:19) you have small typo. It's Czech Republic, not Chez. Noone really knows how Žižka lost his first eye, according to some, he was blind from birth, other traditions say that he lost his first eye in the battle of Grunwald. We are also not really sure about etymology of the name 'Žižka'. 'Blind' is one of the possibilities, but there is stronger case for the etymological root in the word 'šiška', which is 'cone' in english. It's not ancestral name, but a nickname. Otherwise, great content, great series, keep it up!

Poland converted to Christianity more than 500 years before Zizka's birth.

This is a good point, the sentence in the video that you are referring too is overly generalized and incorrect. Modern Poland, of course, didn't exist. But in the 13th century there were crusades against groups of non Christians who lived in areas that now make up parts of Poland, as well as a bunch of surrounding modern nations.

@@DiscerningHistory Yes, that is correct. The Baltic states - today's Lithuania, Latvia and Estonia - were the last peoples in Europe to convert to Christianity in the 13th century.
