I happen to read Pride & Prejudice recently this week (just started exploring romantic novels). I loved how the author has protrayed each character and how pride and prejudice both evolved in their own sense to make an heavenly love story. Liked the way you conveyed the stories and put your views together. Subscribed and looking forward to your upcoming videos.

Just finished listening to Pride and Prejudice, an Audible original produced by wireless theatre. I have read the book before 3-4 times yet it was a magical experience listening to it. It got me through times when I was extremely sick, I even cried at some passages. Words won't ever do justice to my praise of Pride and Prejudice, the more I think about it, its characters, its settings, psychological and emotional face-offs, I am blown away by the genius and heart of Jane Austen. I will be indebted to her forever.

I am not obsessed with female writers but I do like Mary Shelley's Frankenstein-one of my favourite classics. And I like Virginia Woolf and how she has this Dickensian soul to her, with her beautiful and ever-smooth prose.

I don't know much Eng Lit people here and I seriously don't trust my teachers. So, would you please tell me where should I properly start with Shakespeare? I've read Romeo and Juliet, and a little bit of Julius Caesar. Where should I formally start?

Do you want to read all of Shakespeare’s works?
@rache-078 ай бұрын
@@LiteraturewithSuranjali well, yes! I really enjoyed Romeo and Juliet.

If you want to only read Shakespeare for the sheer enjoyment of his plays then I suggest you start with his Comedies. They are fun and genius! Then you can read his Tragedies and finally his Histories. The History plays will need you to do a little background check because they are based on real historical characters and political events. So if you want to start with his Comedy plays you can begein with TWELFTH NIGHT and if you want to try his Tragedy Plays then HAMLET is a good place to start.

In opening line of pride and prejudice, she writes- It is a truth universally acknowledged, that a single man in possession of a good fortune, must be in want of a wife. But alas, it's not true. Instead, I would prefer a bad-tempered lady whom I can pretend to love to love books unremittingly. And what a divine phenomenon it would be if the librarian herself were Elizabeth Bennet of Jane Austen. Ps- do you write?
