Both are masters at their craft. Made it thru herion and only few of them left. Perry is a j*w (like half of myself) so he is good at making and saveing his $. His brain is 90 to nothing at all times. Totally an ADD kid in the 80's. You can see it on stage when they played out in the forest on a rock ledge for maybe 5k people. Yes, Perry doesn't sound good and basically ran out of voice half way after Three Days but remember they played a lot of old songs, I mean he really can't hit those notes he used to hit but at least he's trying and feeling happy to have his band again, that matters a lot to all of them. Who let that fool down BOTTLES of wine at the gig? That's reprehensible. IDGAF who he is. You don't let people sabotage a tour because they're alcoholic. What a joke.

Perry should retire. The band would sound excellent with Cedric Bixler-Zavala (At The Drive-In, The Mars Volta). Give hime a call, guys. You can easily have a brilliant career for another 10 years.

To me Jane’s is like a dark Van Halen. Killer sounding band with an outrageous front man. DLR would go off sounding nothing like the record sometimes out of tune. Perry also is a front man with a certain charisma that makes up for any out of tune singing. I can be critical also but I thought he sounded good. This is Jane’s style.

Eric Avery is to Jane's Addiction just as Peter Hook is to Joy Division. It's all driving on his absolutely iconic baselines. Not to take anything away from any other band member, because they are each important and unique (Navarro will always be my favorite guitarist in general) to this band, but I feel like Avery is probably the one who is mostly responsible for the classic Jane's sound of their first three albums.
