I heard about them a few times in some youtube videos about music, but never bothered to actually check what they’re up to until idk 2 weeks ago and now I’m obsessed! I listen to all of the life shows on YT and I’m pissed at myself for not discovering them earlier bur at the same time I’m glad I eventually did! Stephen Perkins is just a BEAST of a drummer, similar to Danny Carey... I love what DAVE does with that Eflat note around 4:57... incredible.. he made me want to go from classical guitar as a child straight to ROCK!!! and I love Eric's melodic bass lines. I wish they were a bit more evident here. It was a fantastic show to be at.,.. i must say... I'm disappointed with Perry being so out of tune all the time, being flat on high notes even though they tuned down a STEP,.... that's not exactly cool, but it was a magical event.
@just_lisa1931 Жыл бұрын
I feel exactly the same. The vocals get annoying when they're constantly sharp or flat. It could be that his voice needs to rest, and I know it's impossible on tour.

I was there, and knew from the first bass note of Up the Beach, that they were tuned down to accomodate Perry's range. I fully understand the reason , but as someone with a good ear, and who has these songs ingrained in my mind, it makes listening to this difficult

i glad i saw them in 91 at theaterfabrik in munich. they play 32-35 year old songs. i m not sure, if i find that good. no new, relevant material for over 20 years. it is nice to see that they are still around, bit i was never into retro-bands that celebrate their golden past. sorry.

I was at this concert and it ROCKED!!!! (Dave, Stephen and Eric)... but why was Perry, even though they Tuned down to Eb, so lacking in energy, out of tune, etc.... I know he loves his red wine, and that's always been the case. A friend of mine was one of the sound guys, who did a fantastic job but I have the individual sound files from the desk, and it is actually just as out of tune as I thought. Plus, who is the extra guitarist? and what for? The other guys did an amazing job at this gig. Perry just RUINED it, so I'm glad this mix has him very much in the background. At the theatre, we could hear him, and his ridiculous DELAY thing moreso than anything, so I'm glad someone posted this with his vocals further in background. I've always loved his creativity, but not when he sings so horrendously out of tune. He made "Three Days" and "Then She Did" into mockeries. 1% has always been a favourite song of mine, but his vocals are like a tone-deaf person PRETENDING to be tone deaf, but worse. And for anyone who notices, prior to that hideous performance, his little Delay board.. he holds on to a FLAT 6th, when it should be a standard 5th. I would truly love to kick him out of the band and become vocalist. For anyone who has seen my acoustic clips, and subscribed, I thank you kindly. Even those who have critizised me, that's totally cool. So now, I'm going to do an acoustic Jane's cover. In fact, I'm going to get rid of the vocal on this entire set, and put my own on there. It's just too disappointing, as they've been my favourite band since 1988.

@@stickariusthe2nd706 I actually understand what you mean. Thing is, I'm a professional muscian of 40 years and so it's imperative that i critique everything .. without that, I wouldn't be able to pick up faults, therefore breaking it down to all the bare essentials, and fine playing. But when I was THERE, believe me, I enjoyed every minute of it. It sounded a lot better than it does on here. Here I can hear every single mistake. Having perfect pitch is also a problem with me... the slightest 5 cents of a note I can detect, naturally without thinking.
