I just saw an interview/discussion thing Perry Farrell did with Taylor Hawkins. Hawkins mentioned he was at this show and was right by Perkin's drum set. As far as he could tell he was never on camera but he may not have seen all this footage.

I was also next to Perkin's drum set, for the second half of the show. I was taping it and my batteries died. I'm a drummer so I went over and stood directly behind him. Afterwards he gave me one of his sticks and signed it twice. The first time he said the pen was too thin, so he got a better marker. Perkins is a super nice guy and one of those people you would see around at L.A. clubs and parties, so I got to say hello to him a few times. The chili peppers were like that too, before they broke huge. Always around town. I hesitated on bugging Perry for an autograph after they played. He was starting to walk away from the little crowd he just signed things for and I approached asking if he'd mind signing something for me. He was tired, looked at me, and replied, "I'd rather not." Ouch. I was respectful though and just said something along the lines of "No worries. Thanks for another great show" as he walked away. I wasn't going to be a pushy asshole about it. Oh well.
