Possibly one of the greatest shows of all time by anyone. Perfect sets, perfect crowd, perfect vibe, perfect night...Last minute change of Halloween plans, friend called and asked if I wanted to see Jane's Addiction at the Hammerstein for "Some MTV event"..."Oh hell yes, " said I, jumped the train and within one hour we had liftoff. Perry's pupils are as big as the black spots on the peacock feathers he was wearing in his hair. There is so much passion towards the end of this performance it brings tears to my eyes! I grew up with Janes and used to listen to "Ritual de lo Habitual" when I was riding my bike at 5am delivering newspapers on cassette with my walkman, it was otherworldly.

Drugs don’t work, after some time. This was the “relapse” tour aptly named. Dave and Perry had relapsed on heroin. Still in the honeymoon phase where it’s working and this performance is sublime. Flea was traumatized by the hard drugs…. Peppers muse was sobriety. Jane’s muse was h and c.

Amazing song! The lyrics are sad as they draw a parallel between the overdose death of Perry's friend Xiola Bleu, and the suicide of his mother when he was very young: "Will you say hello to my ma? Will you pay a visit to her? She was an artist just as you were I'd have introduced you to her... She was unhappy just as you were unhappy just as you were"
@gregward11918 жыл бұрын
I always wondered who this song was about and I just found out on another site, it's about xiola blue's accidental overdose and subsequent death who was Perry Farrels lover at some point, in the final verse he's asking her to pay a visit to his mother (who committed suicide) in heaven. I also found out the guitarist lost his mother when her boyfriend murdered her. Also, this song and at least the song 3 days were written well before the release of Nothing's Shocking. I found all this out in the comments section in the other feed, as someone pointed out, no wonder they did so much heroin. Very sad, but a fantastic band I was lucky enough to catch twice in Bristol in the UK in very small venues, superb on both occasions.
