Stephen Perkins is such an underrated drummer. This is a song where he gets to show his chops.

Dave’s style is awesome! I always wrote him off because he was on every crappy reality show when I was growing up but he’s a monster on these early records. I hear a lot of Billy Corgan in his playing

Dave preceded Billy by several years. Might be the other way around.

@@Jivanmuktaintraining i know it’s the other way around, I didn’t mean to imply the order of influence with that statement - Corgan says JA was a big influence on Pumpkins and it shows all over the place. Especially then she did sounds like a Siamese dream song

interesting. i've always thought of jane's as funk, punk, metal, and goth. but thrash fits great for some songs as well. genre-benders. my favorite band of all time, honestly.

Also wrote a large portion of the music. Perry was robbing Eric and the other two blind, I'm pretty sure Perry set it up so he earned more than the other three put together. Eric spit and never returned.

Clean punchy bass great timing great innovation and in my opinion funk jazz influenced bassist with a twist of punk. A drummers holy grail of a musician. Awesome band

I love Jane's Addiction. I never thought of them as "Thrash", they were too artistic with lots of textures. They weren't grunge either, but people like to put labels on things. IMO, Jane's Addiction and Smashing Pumpkins, especially the early releases, were almost progressive and jammy, without the hippie patchouli smell. I've seen both bands live, both amazing. I also saw Pornos for Pyros, Farrell's band after the 1st break up. Check out the song "Pets". Only Perry could write something like that. Thanks for playing this and not Jane Says. I love that song, but we've heard it enough.

The Big 4 Thrash bands at that time, were Anthrax, Slayer, Megadeth & Metallica…. Jane’s Addiction sound nothing like them!

There’s a little bit of Atomic Rooster and Ministry in JA IMO, even some influence from Can and the Krautrockers. Labels need not apply, the genre is MUSIC.

Always had mixed feelings with Jane's addiction, they had such good songs like up the beach, classic girl,Jane says and their magnum opus three days and some others but they had those other songs i didn't and don't like at all.....Porno for pyros was a band which songs i liked better. more melodic and P'F's singing is more enjoyable. Thinking of three days i compare the song to child in time and....stairway to heaven, they are long, exciting and have different parts.
