Love the look of that v3. I'd love to get a head / cab set up but for what I play and where I play I can't justify it. I play almost exclusively in places that have in ear monitors so I just rock up with my HX Stomp and a DI pedal. At home I've got a Fender Rumble, which I love and works well for what I do at home but even then I sometimes run the HX Stomp to a computer and headphones. Trying to fight and work on my previous "gear" centric thinking and stay as minimal and functional as I can. If I ever get rid of this rumble that v3 and a cab maybe the next thing though.

I'm considering getting the V3 to pair with my 210AV, even using two 210AV's if needed. I'm currently using a PF-20T with them but I like the feature of having a very small, very light and portable amp head with these cabinets. I had an Aguilar TH 350 which I loved but had to sell for reasons and I think the V3 might be the perfect replacement for that amp.

I just bought a similar rig. The V7, 2x10, & 1x15. It sounds great. I use the full stack with a Stingray 5 HH and the SVT voicing for one band and just the 1x15 and my P Bass with the B-15 voicing for the other. I joke that the speaker cabinets must be movie props because they're so light.

@alanhope89716 ай бұрын
I used the SVT 300 Watt head (all tubes, power and pre) on the road for 21 years along with a HLF 4x10 cabinet. There’s just nothing like Ampeg. Occasionally I would get an Aguilar rig for backline, and they’re just so sterile in comparison.

Is the signal from the send/return loop sent to the DI output? I own an Ampeg PF-350 and i love it but, in order to send the sound from my effects loop to the FOH mixer i need to connect a speaker output to an appropriate DI that accepts the speaker-level signal. The line out XLR on the amp only outputs the signal from the preamp, which is really a huge oversight on Ampeg's engineering.
@compucorder646 ай бұрын
I don't know if you ever thought of trying one of the small recording Ampeg Portaflex amps (PF-20T or PF-50T)? Not for live use, but for using for recording, even as a tube DI.

@@Minimalist1266 a few things to consider: 1) I didn’t get paid to make this video 2) I don’t get paid to play the gear 3) I make no secret of the fact that this is gear is sent to me as a result of me endorsing the product 4) Ampeg neither asked me to make the video nor knew I was making it until it came out and they saw it like everyone else. This gear video, like all the others on my channel, is simply my own opinion of gear I actually use on a daily basis. I accept zero dollars for demos and reviews, and have been totally transparent about that process for years.

@@janekgwizdala you are getting the product for free, aren't you? Ampeg is not doing this because they love you There is an expectation, either expressed or implied. @@squidpeanut yes. That’s the nature of a long-term partnership with a company where you play the gear literally every day. I am paid zero dollars. But I do have the luxury of occasionally being able to reach out to them to get gear I need for my profession. The only way this video should be labeled a paid advertisement is if I had been paid, if ampeg had asked me to make it or even knew about it in advance, or if I somehow benefited from reselling the gear. None of these things are true. I have a video coming soon about paid ads, reviews and gear demos. It will go into depth about the reality of music gear in the age of the internet.
@janekgwizdala4 ай бұрын
@@Minimalist1266 you couldn’t be more wrong. There is nothing implied. In a relationship like the one I have with ampeg i actually stipulated beforehand that I was not required to make a single second of video content about their gear. If ampeg didn’t love me or what I’m doing, the relationship wouldn’t exist. Of course there is a gamble on their part that if they give me gear to play, I’m actually going to play it. And in doing so they will get exposure for their product. That isn’t paid advertising in the case of this video. They had no idea I was going to make it. It amazes me, just based on KZbin comments alone, how clueless the internet is as a whole when it comes to this subject and I have been researching an in-depth video about it which I hope to release in the next couple of weeks.
