Second of all, at almost 52 years-old, there is absolutely nothing old-fashioned. I totally understand that artists, especially mega stars, have to reinvent themselves, as I stated in my original comments. Michael Jackson wouldn't have been the star he was. Beyonce wouldn't be the star she is. That is totally understood. But I wish Michael would have never changed his face. He was handsome. I wish Michael would have never changed his style of music. While the world loves "Thriller", most of his TRUE fans, myself included, prefer "Off the Wall". Changing your image and changing your face are two different things. Look at Lil' Kim, Vivica Fox. I could name many more stars who had terrible plastic surgery. Janet had many great looks throughout her career, even after some plastic surgery. I don't like the way she looks now. Ii don't like her style now. Her cheeks are overdone and hard-looking and her eyes are too tight. The pulled-back ponytail that she flaunts now accentuates those things. I'm entitled to my opinion, just as you're entitled to yours. PeriodT.

I find it hilarious when ppl be like ... "janets lip synching", "Britney is lip synching", "Michael is lip synching", "chris brown is lip synching" These are HIGH ENERGY DANCE performers (although MJ and Breezy do sing live many of times)... of course they lip synch... it's not about the vocals its about the visual performance. It's a different type of artistry than a PURE vocalist like Luther Vandross, Whitney Houston, or Mariah Carey The problem for me is when your performance sucks and you lip synch... or the dancing is basic and you lip synch... that's pathetic.

Yup agreed! I think Kelly Clarkson summed it up nicely in an interview years ago. To paraphrase she was asked about her thoughts on lip-syncing and she said for her specifically, she feels it would be kinda ridiculous (especially winning a SINGING competition), but for other artists who really dance and move around a lot, it’s different and hard to keep it up when using that much energy. Plus on a side note, I do recall Janet singing live quite a bit...

I think it was because they were supposed to sing live at their own show. I think it was okay for dancers like Janet and others to lip synch at awards shows but not on tour. I think that's why Milli Vanilli got it the worst because they weren't singing live at their own shows and then it came out they weren't even using their own vocals.
