I watched Dong Yi tv series in 2010 and since then I really love to learn Joseon dinasty. This movie even though made in 1961 but I think it was the most similar to the real life of Joseon era back then. We can see their language and behavior, and especially the costumes. Those pretty exactly the same with Joseon's real photos. A bit amazed! And for the note, I'm forever Dong Yi's fan... Waiting for King Sukjong meet Dong Yi scene. Such lovely and romantic in their own way 🥰❤️

Thank you for uploading this film. It is presented in 1961 when I was only 6 years old. I also watched "Jang Hui Bin 1968" , "Jang Ok Jung 2004" and " Dong Yi 2006" . I studied all of these . I think the most beautiful mind is Queen In Hyun, the most loyalty, lovely and cleverest is DongYi the water maid and the one who loves the King very much with jealousy heart is Jang Hui Bin.😊

I love watching Korean historical movies and dramas. Even though I love Jang Ok Jung 2013 version more than this version, I have to say this was a good movie. P.s: Jang Hee Bin might had been a cruel queen but I really like her. Watching this gave me some knowledge about Korean history

DongYi is a great story in drama, that's all. after watching Jang Ok Jung 2013, and more detail about history, many Korean open their eyes. We didn't live in old era, ofc character like DongYi will attract us, especially she made as a perfect protagonist by writer. We can see from traces left as historical things in South Korea now.

No matter how the history tell ill facts about her my heart says she maybe, was a good person who was portrayed as a bad by people. I think their records about Ok Jung before is true and that she is kind and even radiant and confident before but then she changed because of the people around her or maybe because of the situation she was in. And that is because of her love for the king. Even though she was kind before but it doesnt change the fact that she done bad things and she becomes greedy for for power. But over all her character as a woman is admirable because she is brave, smart and she knows what she is doing.

옛날 영화 흑백으로 보니 다른영감을 느끼네요. 좀구식이고 촌스럽지만 김지미 여배우는 굉장한 미모라는게 새삼스레 느꺼지고, 화장, 역 활. . 악녀로 만들었네요. 그당시 숙종이 현명한 왕이 안 이였던거 같고... 자기 왕실에서 자기가족 지키지 못하는 , 바람둥이왕으로 생각된다. 잘보았슴니다!

yeah, DongYi story in tv was made as perfect protagonist. while in reality (at least close to real history) a lot of differencess. I watch Jang Ok Jung (Seo In Guk and Kim TaeHee), and I agree with Korean, that story is close to history. Jang Ok Jung and King really love each other and even in the same grave(sadly they lived in old era, not modern one). well, even in DongYi drama, she (jang Ok Jung/Heebin) still died in King's embrace.

The costumes here are so different compared to more recent historical dramas! I really like them. I wonder which is more accurate to the time period. After perusing the comments these are not, in fact, all that accurate! Adding minor inaccuracies to modern dramas (Dong Yi led me to this), it got a bit confusing. Now I know why they're wearing bridal accessories. 😂 Still a great film though. If only for the historical value.

1961년 작품이네요, 그당시에는 고, 김지미 님이 아름다운신 배우님이셨죠, 당시에는 주로 흑백영화였고, 음성도 따로 성우님들이 해주셨다고 해요, 그래서 영화속의 배우님의 목소리가 아니고, 다른 라디오방송의 성우님들의 목소리로.... 그때에는 T V 도... 보편적으로 정보를 얻을려면, 신문, 그리고 라디오의 뉴스, 드라마, (성우님들의 목소리에 깜빡 숨넘어가는 사람들 많었음) 음악등 온통 정보 수집통이 라디오 였을시대 였습니다.^^
