Janine is someone I would live to sit down with and spend an evening with just to listen to her no nonsense logic. I have been described as ....blunt or direct. I have learned so much from her. Wish I could have met her mom, too. And that accent! Gotta love this woman ♡

Once again, Janine is confronting our bias. Wow. Being conscious that we carry bias is huge and having some strategies for opening up a conversation.

OMgosh at minute 32 she was describing one of my best friends. She's extro in the gathering research phase and intro in the results phase. Wow. Makes so much sense.

Hhhmmm. I definitely prefer to shop, travel, work, go for entertainment, etc., by myself. Good friends just know not to invite me out to eat or to a big party (though a movie might be ok as I don't have to be 'on' during a movie) or invite themselves along if I'm going shopping. I'll tag along on their shopping trips to keep them company, but I don't want anyone shopping with me. Yet I would not say I'm the kind of person to advance quickly on people because that startles & unnerves me when others do it. I'll be monitoring myself, but I'm pretty sure I'm slow to approach people & tend to get their eye contact & advance slowly toward people when I want to tell them something. I'd be curious to have this woman observe me & see if her assessment rings true to me. I'm an introvert who trained herself to focus outward on others. In a strange way, it lets me stay an introvert, keeping myself to myself, while seeming to be extroverted to other people. They only slowly come to realize that I don't reveal myself but switch over to them 99% of the time unless I feel very safe with them. and it sometimes puzzles people who respond to my 'you focus' with invitations to more time together or intimacy & I pull back. They just don't believe I'm an introvert & would far rather be alone than with people. Nothing wrong with people: I'm one myself. But being with others drains my battery extremely fast & I need a long time to recharge.
