Okay, so I thought the names of Janis' siblings sounded familiar (Dave Dee, Dozy, Beaky, Mick and Titch); they're taken from a British band that were around in the 1960's and apparently some of their songs were big hits in Germany. The WWII Looney Tunes short on the DVD is kinda weird, but it suddenly makes more sense when you realize that this entire movie can easily be interpreted as a metaphor for the Holocaust. It's not that hard to notice, the dog is an allegory for Adolf Hitler, the other farm animals being the Nazi party, and the pigs are a stand-in for the Jews (which ironically don't like pork), with Janis/Jamie representing any Jew that managed to escape the Nazi regime. Also the fact that the rooster was French and was crowing in the French way "Cocorico" as opposed to "Cockadoodle Doo" and the dog chewed him out for it, considering Hitler absolutely HATED the French. Suddenly you realize this movie is a LOT more disturbing when you put those metaphors into place.

The "joke" around the cock crowing in French is probably quite funny in German as I guess it's bases of how different languages say animals make noise. A similar joke could be a Dutch cow constantly trying to scare people as while most languages write the cow noise as moa or something in Dutch it's "boe", which is also the noise you make loudly if you try to startle someone.

@@andrewollmann304 I think he said macho. A macho being someone who acts stereotypically masculine, I think?
@MrFutago87Ай бұрын
@@xFlareLeon Late to the party here and yeah, he says macho. I looked up the German version in that he says "Gockel" which is German slang for a male chicken. As for Gallic, the scientific name for chicken is Gallus Domesticus so gallic essentially means "chicken-like". So basically since there was no direct translation for "Gockel" they just said macho chicken.

The cow had a female voice in the german dub. The german dubs got a lot more voice actors than the english dubs. My guess is that just a handful of the german va felt confident enough to speak english. That's why there were so many brawny guys with female voices and Cowlonell Pimpers.

I finally looked up the words "gallic" and "muchel" just to figure out wtf the dog was calling the rooster lol "Gallic" is a synonym for "French" and "muchel" is apparently just a weird alternative to the word "much" (Not even fully sure what other meanings it could possibly have given that the freedictionary page for it is scant to say the very least) So yea, the dog was basically just insulting the rooster for being French (again) only with gibberish-sounding vocabulary XD Still no idea how "crazy gallic muchel" a.k.a "crazy French much" is supposed to be even remotely grammatically accurate, but then again, this IS Dingo Pictures after all

Why not? Would it be redundant? Sorry, I've been learning German for a bit so I wanna know this.

@@UsagiNintendoGirl Exactly. 'Schweinchen' already implements that it's a piglet or at least a little pig, so 'Baby' is redundant. '-chen' as a suffix is used to show that a thing is small or cute, so in most animals it's carries the meaning of 'baby animal'
