The vibe is so different from '80s commercials and even the commercials of the first half of the '70s. But it's hard for me to choose my favorite era. '70s, '80s and early '90s were all pretty good. What a difference from today. Virtually no ads in the last 20 years have stuck with me.

This is squarely in the middle of that disco era that's distinct from post that "Brady Bunch" early '70s era and the early computer-influenced '80s. You had a lot of technology similar to that seen in the first Star Wars movie along with Scanimate, and most network promos had moved on from still bumpers to full sneek peeks from upcoming episodes. It felt like a period of cultural liveliness following the more serious Vietnam era but before the "buttoned up" '80s. But it seems like innovation dried up after around the mid-2000s.
