The one Park in California I never got to see and its my birth State when my father served in the Military at Fairfield Ca. Travis AFB. During the Korean war & up to when he was sent to Newfoundland for his next tour of duty. I have enjoyed it watching the video's you provide here on you tube. I do remember a flood some while back in the Park. Cant remember when that was , but that it was horrific. Hope All is well & Sending our prayers to God for comforts for all. Amen.......

I love Yosemite, too, and have visited, hiked, climbed and camped there dozens of times over the years. Winter there is an incredible wonderland experience, even though most trails are closed, especially when the sun shines on all that rock, snow, water and forest. Try to catch Yosemite Falls from Glacier point around 11:00 to 12:30 when the sun provides colors in the mist, and Bridle-veil Falls from Inspiration point in the later afternoon for the same effect-- outstanding.

Looks like Yosemite is handling all that water just fine without man's meddling. Natural is, as natural does.

They should just call all of the falls next to Horsetail Falls when combined together as "The Horsetails" in flood seasons.

Should would like to have seen the Merced River passing under the Vernal Falls bridge. If you've got it, post it! We arrived a day too late.........The morning AFTER the highest water. River was at "run-off high" vs. "flooding". Got INTO the valley........almost couldn't GET OUT.

Now , ya see . All that rain water is going to erode that granite . And by the time I get there what will be left ? Can't you put up some tarps or something ? Wait , I've got a poncho . I'll be right there .

wish I could have seen that in person. any footage of vernal and Nevada falls?
@HarryBalsak7 жыл бұрын
Good question, I wish they had at least taken footage at the Happy Isles bridge. The Vernal Fall footbridge would have been even better.
@MooseTurder7 жыл бұрын
Gavin Fraser the Nevada falls trail is covered in snow and ice . at this time even Lower Yosemite Falls is not accessable foot path has been closed for past 2 or 3 weeks due to frazil ice buildup completely covering the bridge and water flowing over it. we walked up to happy isles and that was open last weekend.
