Lets be honest, Steidten has not set the world on fire and when you actually see his CV, this is his first actuall director of football role, he has only been an assistant before.

In fairness, you can't really judge TS until he's worked with a young, modern minded football manager. We've asked him to work with 2 managers both negative and backward managers (Moyesasaurs an Floppytegi) who nobody else wants to employ. Put on top of that 1 owner who can't help but stick his decrepit old septic oar in, who has a history of signing 50 + strikers, who the vast majority have been utter stinking flops, and another owner who is in the process of buying a bent and corrupt postal system and appears to have a stake in West Ham purely to make a few bob each season. Fulkrug hasnt worked out, is it his fault? Or the Managers? Or the injury? But how can you criticise TS for 1 striker not working out when we have a history of 50 forwards not working out ffs. We've relyed on a LB/LW as our main goal threat for almost 9 years. The blame lies squarely with Sulivan and the board.

Spot on it’s an in insidious effect throughout the club, staff and players. He simply cannot stand others gaining popularity by being successful even if he is incapable of seeing his and Brady’s toxic effect on anyone who seems a threat to their egos and narrow minded view on how to run a football club. Sullivan will never be self effacing whatever the indicators.

Great to see you better Mark. The problem is and always will be Sullivan. Spends money on players and won't spend to get in a top class coach/manager. We have some fantastic players and a decent squad and a top coach would have us in the top 8 by now.

Why are people surprised all this top 6 stuff being spouted by some pre season was always delusional. We let Moyes play his games everyone pulling in different directions, we wasted 4 mths at the end of last season treading water, employed a poor choice of Manager who couldn’t even start till late June and thanks to the dreadful state of the squad at that point on various levels we were faced with having to bring in 8+ players. Yes Steidten disappointed there but honestly would did people expect from this disfunctional club leaving him a mountain to climb. Even in a best case scenario better than half your signings making an early impact is a good average, but when you have so many to find in such a short period of time it’s asking for a near miracle in reality. Set up to fail and you fail and in the end as budget declined we were clearly initiating panic deals with little cohesion. Yes Steidten must take some blame but I do wonder how having been place through incompetence by others into this invidious position just how anyone expected a positive result. To me we are worse than I expected yes, but in all honesty NOT that much worse a shit show considering what led up to it and I doubt any Director of Football having had the ground removed from under him in his first year by a conniving unhelpful owner who seems to want him to fail would likely have done that much better in the circumstances, which is why no matter the personnel these disasters just keep on coming.

I don’t think anyone has suggested otherwise. He may well have wanted Duran. The problem wasn’t the fact we didn’t get Duran because Sullivan refused to pay the money. The problem is Tim had plenty of months and a scouting team to find a cheaper plan B striker who is the same type of forward as Duran and signed a slow, old fashioned number 9. He failed miserably. And that’s before you consider he signed the Roberto of centre halves, Dinos. A French centre half for a high fee who sounds like a troublemaker. And spunked £20m-25m on some Brazilian kid who isn’t ready to play for the 1st team. That’s why he deserves to lose his job.

Sullivan needs a fall guy. Oh, I know, let’s pick the guy I’ve completely undermined throughout his tenure. Ok, Steidten’s made some mistakes but imagine working in that toxic atmosphere. If I was Tim I would resign. It’s so obvious that no DOF could work while Sullivan runs the club. If we lose to Southampton (I predict a 0-0 bore draw) then Lopetegui should be sacked immediately afterwards. Sorry for the negativity but I’m really pissed off about pretty much everything to do with our club. I wish Sullivan would just sell up and give us some hope back.
