I am an optometry student and saw that you have a hordeolum! It's essentially a small infection due to a clogged gland. it's very common to get. Try doing warm compresses up to 6 times a day 10 minutes each time, it will help declog the gland. Keep it nice and clean and wearing no makeup is a good way to go! If it's a reoccurring problem we typically prescribe oral antibiotics. love ya!

I get styes occasionally when I rub too hard trying to remove eye makeup/mascara. Hot compresses are key, and they don't have to be fancy! Put a damp cloth or paper towel in the microwave for 15-20 seconds or until it's hot, and then lay it on your eye until it cools. Be careful not to rub or irritate the eyes when washing your face or using other skincare

hi Jen! I'm a fourth year medical student. U can treat hordeolum with hot water compress on the stye + some antibiotic ointment if it worsen. I just wanna say the first remedy might work, because it's hot & warm. Hordeolum is actually when your Meibom glands (glands that produce oil) occluded, all the oils get caught up and so the infection occurs. The hot&warm remedies will dilates the vessel so the oil can get through. I'm sorry for the long & boring infos! (am such a nerd hahaha) Love you & Get well soon Jenn!!!! ❤️

Jenn! Supposedly there's some kind of bath soap you can use on Cheeki so that maybe Ben won't have as bad of an allergic reaction to her fur. I wish I knew what it was called, but my family friend says her daughter stopped having symptoms ever since they bathed their pets with the new soap.

Just to ride off of this comment, there's also something I use with my dog called Allerpet; look it up! It doesn't irritate his sensitive skin at all, and I noticed a real difference with dander. Also, just make sure to groom Cheeki often, including brushing her daily and using little pet wipes after walks.

Jenn!!! Don't worry about Ben being allergic to Cheeki - it will all be ok. My dad is allergic to dogs too and we stupidly got two of them (one of them a cockerpoo, kind of like a multipoo). He was allergic to them for a bit and it was pretty difficult for him, but after a while he built up a tolerance to our specific dogs. He is still allergic to other dogs, but after living with ours for long enough he is now fine around them. He also got allergy meds from the doctor for bad days but tell Ben it will all be okay! Also - I'm from Muswell Hill where Ben used to live in London! I recognised Toff's (the fish and chip shop) in one of your old videos, I used to go there at lunch break when I was in secondary school. Massive congratulations on getting engaged!! Loved this vlog! For Ben's allergies of Cheeki, you guys should get an air purifier. Also, try out Nambudripad's Allergy Elimination Techniques (NAET). This is usually done at an acupuncture place. What it is that they will test you for allergies (in Ben's case, Cheeki) and then they will do some acupuncture techniques in the session. The specialist will probably have you come in more than one session. I have allergies in the spring and NAET really helped me last year. Keep on using allergy medicine as well. Good luck! Can't wait to see the proposal vlog!

Hot compresses! Soak a face towel in steamy hot water (as hot as you can handle) and apply the towel with pressure onto the eye. Do this AT LEAST 4 times a day (I know it's very inconvenient and I had to give makeup a break - but it's WORTH IT)! The stye will soften up and drain naturally in about 3-5 days. Good luck!

i used to have 2-3 styes on each eye every month or so and its sooo annoying and painful. I suggest to just use a small towel for a hot compress every 3 hrs or so. And then after that try to press firmly on your undereye bag, the puffy/fatty part near the actual lashline because behind that part is the stye itself. Just a firm press, not to much not too light. Reason is for most styes you need to drain out the Pus or yellow-green liquid inside. In order to do that you need to create an opening so that it can drain out on its own. Via the hot compress and pressing firmly. Its sorta like popping a pimple where theres stuff coming out so have a cotton swab ready to kinda grab the pus part and keep pressing until its all gone. Youll know when its ready to pop out because you control the pressure. Keep in mind that the first few times you do the hot compress it might not be ready to pop out yet. So every 3 hours keep trying. During the day when you are out and cant do the hot compress, i suggest asking the pharmacy if they have any ANTI-INFLAMMATORY and ANTI_BACTERIAL eye drops. Just use it every 2-3 hours daily. And put about 2-3 drops, two inside the undereye itself and one on the lashline where the stye is. This is also a tremendous help. It is important you do these in the first 1-2 weeks Jenn because i think around 3-4 weeks the stuff inside will start to harden and its gonna be hard to drain it out completely on your own. It only happened to me once and the doctor had to create an incision in my eye to create an opening and surgically removed it. So its surgery and will be worse because after that my undereye became sallow and sunken looking and I just regret not paying attention to it sooner and did all these steps. I hope you feel better and can try these methods. In my lifetime i had more than 50 styes pop up in my eye 2-3 at a time so I know how it feels. The fact that it is still swollen and painful is a good sign because it means its still fresh and liquidy inside so u can still drain it. If its not swollen anymore go to the doctor asap. btw, this may be weird but 1 time i plucked one of my lashes in the waterline so it creates an opening where the pus can come out. but that really depends where the stye is in the first place.

Witch hazel should help with redness and swelling! I use an alcohol-free extract, which I use as a toner on regular days, but it always helps with subburn, itchy bites, puffy eyes, you name it.

HI JENN! Hope you get to read this because this is the Korean stye remedy I've been using for years and has been always working. Take the opposite side hand of your stye eye (it seems that your stye eye is on your right side, so take your left hand). Tap (pretty hard) on the shoulder of your desired hand and try to drain your blood down to your hand. Make a fist with your left hand. When you create a fist, on the pinky side, a skin bump is naturally created on your palm fold (this is so hard to describe). Take a needle or a lancing device, and prick that tiny bump. Squeeze out some blood. Wait it out for a day or so. If the stye doesn't fully subside, try again after a day. Hope it works!! Best of luck!!

I work at an optometrist office and we recommend a hot compress, but we do a hot wet compress. Take a washcloth and rinse in hot sink water. MORE SURE WATER WASN'T BOILING HOT! Test on your hand first to see if it's too hot to handle on your eye. Wring out all the water and place on top of your eye. Hold on your eye until compress goes cold. Then you want to wash around your eye and scrub your lids. Use a new clean washcloth and baby shampoo(no tears) Place a small dime sized amount on shampoo non wet washcloth and scrub around your eye and gently on top of eyelids then rinse. Best to do this twice a day.

I've been subscribed to you for a couple years now and I feel like in the last six months I've become addicted to your videos. I know you mentioned in an earlier video that you have made some changes with your content recently and it's translating really well! For some reason I feel like now, I'm able to get to know you more. I like how you vlog more and share bits and pieces of your life in a non-invasive way to those around you even if it's like this vlog that just went through remedies for your eye hahaha. I love how you're working with a designer to do your graphics too! I think sometimes other youtubers think that improving content means just upgrading gear but I think you're doing it in a very unique way by working with another designer/artist. You guys compliment each other so well. As for the stye a hot compress 3 times a day is what the doctor told me. Take a hot potato and a wet rag and microwave it. He said the potato would keep the rag warm. That worked for one of my eyes but the other he had to numb, flip and slice it then wipe it out(at this level it was there for 3 months but hopefully you won't need this )😢. It never came back ever since. Also, I switched to certain brands of mascara like Clinique because I noticed certain brands itched my eye. Okay I hope that helped😅. Happy Jennuary!!

For future reference a hard boiled egg will work better than tea bags! Even though green tea has anti inflammation qualities, a tea bag does not retain heat very well. Eggs retain their heat for much much longer and that's truly what will help calm down your sty. I got a sty right before I was visiting my long distance boyfriend and I ended up getting it more or less cleared within 2 days (while asking for hot towels constantly on the plane).

Not sure if it's too late, but you could try dissolving a little salt into warm water, and soak up some cotton pads, then lay them on your eye Jenn! The saline solution will help kill the bacteria. You can also follow up by using the same method with Chrysanthemum tea... it'll help to soothe redness in the eyes(:
