Once a week sounds like a great idea! I love the variety of your books, I definitely enjoy reading cold/wintery books this time of year! But I don't force myself if something sounds better as I am the same, I like planning but I am also a mood reader too! 😊

I think that first full paragraph sentence in Anne is such a perfect intro to Rachel Lynn and Anne! What a tone to set for both their personalities! I cannot wait to read this book again and notice things like this throughout it! It will be my 2nd reread of the books. First read I was 13, 1st reread in my early 30s and now I’m reading again in my mid 40’s with my own teenage kids. I cannot wait to see how much I love it again and what I notice new!❤️

Love that you are focussing on slow and deep. I just noticed that the live show for Anne of Green Gables will be on my brother's birthday. I don't know why, but that seems fitting for some reason, lol. For one, it might mean I won't forget about it, lol. I am so looking forward to A Year Of Maud!

Im reading a Ladies Guide now. I love the gaslight elements along with the Nutcracker elements as well! It’s been a slower (but fully enjoyable) read for me but I think that is more about my own reading slump then the actual story.

My goals are to read "Tiffany Girl" by Deeanne Gist (Disney Challenge Prompt), "The Blue Castle" by L.M. Montgomery (Literary Book Club box and fulfills the Beauty challenge from you. The book cover is stunning!), "One More River to Cross" by Jane Kirkpatrick, and "The Beautiful Pretender" by Melanie Dickerson (Katie's Fairytale challenge, and slowly working to finish series I have started)

Definitely reading ANNE OF GREEN GABLES for Year of Maud read-a-long. I probably won't finish my current reads, so those will flow into January: THE ANNOTATED CHRISTMAS CAROL (Dickens with Michael Patrick Hearn, ed), CHRISTMAS WITH ANNE AND OTHER HOLIDAY STORIES (Montgomery), & THE CHRISTMAS HEIRLOOM (Hunter, Witemeyer, Thomas & Wade). I also started listening to THE DAUGHTER OF SHERLOCK HOLMES (Goldberg). I'm hoping to get to another L. M. Montgomery book in January, too. A challenge for me, since I usually listen to audiobooks, but want to actually read more this year. I'm not a fast reader, so we'll see how it goes! 😊

Her books in this series have been more graphic than most Christian suspense books. The first book in the series was the creepiest book I've read in awhile, so they may not be your cup of tea.

For the Read Your Shelf challenge in January I’m reading Enchantee by Gita Trelease cover is so pretty and the Paris map in the book is just beautiful! “Love. Magic. Revolution.” I’m also reading from my kids bookshelf for the challenge A Wish in the Dark a Les Miserables retelling but takes place in a Thai inspired fantasy world❤️ I’ve been drooling over the cover for a while because it’s beautiful! Also I think Les Mis is one of the most beautiful musicals I’ve heard. Other then those I’ve some library books to be read. The Queens cook Tessa Afshar (I’ve loved all her historical Christian fiction💗❤️💗) The Underground Library Jennifer Ryan ( really enjoyed her Kitchen Front & Wedding Dress Circle) Salt to the Sea Rita Sepetys (was fascinated by her The Fountain of Silence & expect this book of hers to make me cry too) I find out what book we are reading for our library book club choice Thursday, currently reading The Book Woman of Troublesome Creek. It’s a reread for me and I’m doing audio this time- the accent is fun) Gods Double Agent Bob Fu via audio Oh and book 31 of the Stephanie Plum books by Janet Evanovich🫣 I’m been reading them since my 17 year old was 3… and while I keep getting older this Plum girl does not and with every book I start relating more to her mom then her 😂😂 but the books make me chuckle.

Love the intro and quote! I just got A Lady's Guide to Marvels and Misadventures for Christmas and I'm really looking forward it! It sounds like it's a mix of The Nutcracker and Around the World in 80 Days with a steampunk element (though I don't know the difference between steampunk and gaslight, so it might be the latter instead). It sounds like a lot of fun!

Chantel, an incredibly good Christian Fiction fairy tale retelling is The Shadow of the Bear by Regina Doman. It is specifically Catholic, which I know you are not, but I don't think it would be anything that like, would stop you from reading it. It is a retelling of snow white and rose red as if it took place in modern new York City. Such a thrill! YA. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND 😊
