The map changes and additions are overall great, but I do think that it'll likely just exaggerate the insanely one sided games that appear most common at the moment, but at least they'd end faster. But the Active Item buffs, now, there's a change that'll genuinely shake things up a lot. I buy a lot of actives anyway, and they're really fun with how they can change your playstyle, but these buffs are crazy. The Jade Scepter change is an odd one though, as really the reduction in power only lasts 3 seconds due to the displacement duration and it's mostly used as a get off me tool, not an engage tool. Gargoyle looks fucking nuts now and Hussar is meta defining - just being completely immune to Slows, is ridiculous.

I honestly feel the side jungles should have some sort of outpost camp with friendly minions that can be pushed through that side jungle that could possibly allow minions to back door. Could have something like a mini-tower to help protect that side jungle. Could have some sort of point you can contest that can give you a trebuchet. There is a lot you can do but I would put that on Duo lane with a small emphasis on that in the solo side. This would make support stay a little longer on the Duo lane and not have them take too much from the jungler.

something like heroes of the storm mercenaries would be cool , like those that attack the towers from outside the ring so if left unchecked they'll just push the lane until they die of minions but usually can take a good chunk out of a tower. it would make a nice play to have your hunter kill the camp in duo lane and tp to fg to put some pressure on the ennemies while you keep them at fg knowing they'll eventually lose a tower pasively

Yeah they need a unique function to the duo lane that’s interactive and makes the hunter stay in the lane and make timing their buffs important. I like the idea of summoning an extra wave of minions through a neutral side camp. They’d need to balance it well so even if you win the objective every time it doesn’t snowball you. Early snowballing ADC’s just destroy moba’s.

I like the changes overall but ever since I saw Enuki's video on how the conquest map could be changed, I hard agree with him. I feel like there should be very well telegraphed teamfight objectives that visually draw players to them. Or there should be more thematic jungle camps that offer utilities or tools for fighting or lane pushing (la bomba, and the ward thing is a start in the right direction).

and to think this is all just the first day worth of a full week of info regarding this patch. atp the january patch is going to basically feel like smite 3 lol. all great changes so far though i’m very excited. i am slightly concerned though, with it being such a huge patch and it being the suspected f2p release i am concerned about bugs and server issues being of major concern and potentially greatly hindering the release hype. i hope they have extensive testing before hand to help this and it would also maybe be nice to have like a 2 week period or smth after the update before f2p release so that stuff can be figured out. we’ll see though

It would be great for beginner players if they did a gradient color change in the jungle so you could tell where you are going, towards the enemy base or your own. Jungle is a maze when you first start.

one of the problems of smite one hunter antiheal was that you were gonna build exe anyways and gonna upgrade to green anyways so you never gave up anything for it. i like how they are doing it now where anti heal means giving up something else in the build

I think a cool addition would be where, if certain circumstances are met, any surviving jungle mobs in either lane can be made to pile up on the main boss of their side of the map if said boss is being attacked. So if one team is attacking the Fury, all of a sudden all the surviving mobs on its side of the jungle are sprinting full throttle to provide support for said fury.

@ yeah 5 months after smite 2 release? And please miss me with the “it’s still alpha”. They made people buy the game thinking we’d be happy with it. Than they realized no one was playing and actually got to work. Poor management, poor execution, and they’re losing their core player base. Smite 2 will not succeed.

@BurtReynolds420 the fact that you expect them to have 4 separate game modes in an alpha that they KNEW wouldn't have the player base to support it is honestly laughable. I will agree that their plans for the game at the start were not well thought out, but they are making up for it. And they weren't expecting people to pay for an alpha and be happy about it. It was targeted at hard-core players who wanted to play the game and give feedback to the developers so they could make the game better. The fact that you don't like that it's pay for access proves that you are not who they were targeting for the early access.
