I really don't understand why people dislike this video...... this is amazing! I own a Toyota CELICA 1984 GTS and I wanna do the same swap. beautiful toy!

Men the amount of love hours for building these car is unreal but i'm happy because he din't put 1j in it even though it still a toyota engine he just put the basic 4 banger when the car was design for. The look on his face during the interview is priceless i know he appreciate and love these car so much that he will keep it for long. This body style is my fav over than the coupe because it look like a 67 mustang fast back. When i was first watching these back on dec 2012 until now still my fav youtube vid on this car.

I miss the old days of car tuners, its full of passion. I remember as a kid playing my ps1 and ps2 about street racing etc. it had that kind of atmosphere, I just dont know how to put it into words, but you can see how the work shop of this guys remind me of the japanese tuners etc.. cars like the evo 5, subaru i miss those old moment, where its manually than machine-like..

This is true inspiration for the rest of us doing it DIY. I have a 90 Celica GT that I'm hoping to restore and turn into a show car. It's awesome to see a car that I've always wanted looking soo good that many years past it's birthday. Thanks Guys!

+Jacob Saca did you know some people think this car and brand sucks :(... It is beautiful and now a days everyone wants to have the same damn mustangs. No one puts in the work in the cars. Everyone just reads the pamphlets and regurgitates it back up. More respect for people who work on cars even if its riced out at least they worked hard on it, instead of buying it with mom and dads cash/card.

Don’t take this as an attack everyone who is too young or too new to the old school import scene. The oil cooler is how old school jdm Tuners built their cars. There wasn’t any room in front of the radiator as crash requirements didn’t require big ass bumpers with huge gaps between roads and bumpers, so the oil coolers were bolted to the bumper or grille. Yes it appears strange to western tastes as we don’t like to have the stuff out in the open, as he said he wanted to give it the original JDM feel, hence the reason it’s on the outside. I can’t even recall how many Datsun 510’s and Z cars and RX7’s I’ve seen through the years with their oil coolers exposed. Ask anybody who was around pre 1995 how many old school tuner cars rocked this style in the American tuner mags. It’s not seen too often on post 1980 vehicles but 70’s Tuners almost require it. On these cars It’s as common as seeing a huge front mount inter cooler behind the main bumper bar. If it’s not your taste then it’s not your taste but to rag on the build because he decided to throw some old school flavor in there is as whack as a welfare pimp.

I love the car and the engine swap. Only the oil cooler is out of place on such a nicely done project car.
@nikrbawker2 жыл бұрын
Looks cool but at the same time a little ricey when you look at a lot of them. On it's own though stacked up against a lot of vehicles the oil coolers like that ain't too bad when you realize the roots of why that is there, ancient Japanese racing.

+getahanddown Right on sir! I once owned a Caldina motor we swapped into a 6th gen Celica. GREAT MOTOR
@getahanddown8 жыл бұрын
Mine came with everything I wanted EXCEPT the motor was 400,000k's and tired. Good excuse to to the swap :)
@negativeindustrial8 жыл бұрын
+getahanddown Nice man. We got screwed in the States with only the sub-200HP engines so we basically build our own GT4's if we love them enough. That's what I did so I took the opportunity to mix and match. I have the rare BEAMS interior (Red and Black), 3S-GTE engine, WRC exterior with all of the TRD upgrades. It was very expensive but the labor was all me and my friends so totally worth it. That car is seriously quick.
@getahanddown8 жыл бұрын
+Neg Ative That's a sick combo! Mine is a daily for going to climbing areas, ski fields and carting crap around so looks really rough. From what I've seen the US does get screwed on imports. I'm lucky in NZ we get pretty much everything.
