Japanese people don't have a good sense of balance between work and leisure (they try to go above and beyond in any work they do) that's why work culture often becomes "toxic", For Nagas on the other hand leisure outweighs hardwork 'imo' (short term benefits, lack of role models, money-mindedness), we can learn a lot from the Japanese to overcome such attitudes, mindsets etc. we really need to step up as Naga's on the local level first, even in India we hardly have any contribution to the country as a whole, hopefully Nagas who are exposed to international work culture be it toxic or enriching can be a start to a prosperous future.

I'm Japanese. Last week I traveled to Kohima, Wokha and Mokokchung to enjoy the hornbill festival and traditional Naga cuisine. You may not be interested in Japan, but I am most interested in Nagaland. In Japan, a food similar to Akuni called natto is popular. There are also fermented bamboo shoots. In the old days, samurai hunted the heads of enemy generals. We have a lot of similarities and I'm sure we can become friends.
@Zuk789

I'm very glad that you enjoyed your stay at Nagaland. People here actually have a fond adoration for Japan, it's culture, people, and food. Our Naga people are filled with a mixed variety with those who are able to go out of their comfort zones and struggle for their goals while there are those that just seek the comfort of their homes and always criticize whenever such opportunities arise. I have always wondered on how much difference is there between japanese natto and naga akhuni dishes?
@sute4
@sute4 Ай бұрын
@@Zuk789 Thank you for your reply. Fun facts: In Japan, natto is especially popular in the Tohoku(means:East North) region. I found the taste and smell to be almost the same. However, the way of eating is different. In Japan, natto is eaten with soy sauce and green onions mixed together and served on rice. Chili, salt, and garlic are not used for seasoning. This is one of the traditional Japanese breakfast menus. Try searching for "Japanese NATTO cuisine" on Google. You will see many images of simple ways of eating.

@@sute4 oh thank you so much for the travia. I've not been aware of natto and akhuni being the same thing until recently as the only times I've seen japanese natto were on food videos made by Japan based influencers so my assumption of it was very different. I actually have a question. With the recently released Governmental policies it has become quite difficult for tourists to enter the northeastern states with proper permits so how are you going to tackle this issue ?

Traditionally we Nagas by blood are very hard working people..moulded to survive & management, but the problem is that whether the present lazy generation of our people especially the younger ones can be seen actively fused our culture to Japanese culture forming into single entity. It's hard to trust such job placements because we all know that most of the Japanese people themselves are struggling to meet their daily needs. They used to work for long hours even upto the extent of sleeping on the work place itself. Most of their youths don't even have the privilege to date because of long hours of work shift and low wage. The salary may seem feasible to us but we should keep in mind the expenses out there will be expensive too. And this organization might be able to lookout for a few hundreds of workers(Nagas) but if the numbers grow up to 1000+ Naga workers, it will be impossible to keep in touch with all of them. Think twice before you apply since the culture out there is very different from ours. No cap

Just my opinion but i don't think it's worth it. Considering the toxic work culture there you can hardly enjoy life and based on his saying salary is just 90k-1.4lakh which may sound a lot there but it's lower than the avg. salary in japan, forget living you have to survive, you won't be able to save any money(unless they're providing accommodation). For Nagas we're not used to working 9-10 hours, have to lower ourselves since it's hierarchy system plus drinking is a huge thing. If your aim is just to experience and come back then it can be a good thing but for those planning for long time work, I'd really think thrice.

This must be broadcasting through news channel only now but Human and Arms (H&A) cooperation has been running for around 2-3 years. I'm not discouraging anyone who is willing but in reality Japan is not like we see in movies or see about them on social media. To work in Japan you've to be very committed and punctuality, manners are the top priority. Most of Japanese people are self centered because they're focused on their work mostly. With around only 1lac salary it'll be expensive to live in Japan. I also worked in Tokyo for about 6 months, but I believe I would find it very difficult to live in rural even if I were to do so, because unlikely in cities like Tokyo or Osaka, there’s almost no sense of privacy. Most of the cases, people there are very kind and friendly, sometimes too much though.

It’s really a great opportunity for the youths of Nagaland. The problem here is, are we determined enough to work as hard as the Japanese? You see Japanese are really very hard working and it’s not just the schedule time shift, there are extra hours without extra pay and if you don’t stick to the contract, you might actually end up paying money.

Disclaimer : These are just my own opinions and not conclusions from the information I have and my interest in geopolitics. I would not hesitate to make myself a candidate and move to Japan if I were to get a chance but I would never settle there permanently even if I get the chance and I will marry a Naga. Why? Issues pertaining to demography, economy and geopolitics. Japan's economy has been stagnant since 1991 and shows no signs of improvements. Why? Demographic issues just like many other countries like South Korea (Country with the lowest fertility rate and expert says that it may become the first country to disappear from the surface of Earth and therefore since 2006 the government has invested $270 billion in various programs aimed at encouraging couples to have more children), Russia (Putin even encouraged its population to have sex at work to curb its falling birth rate), China (Even though it has the 2nd highest population after India the government is scared of the decline therefore it even ended its 1 child policy in 2016). Japan's population is dying and therefore its working population is dying and therefore causes economic issues. The central bank even issues loans at a very, very low rate of 0.25% (it was 0% for many years) to boost borrowings and spending which would in return boost its economy. Japan is the country with the highest elderly residents in the world and if this continues its economy will stay stagnant. The government is desperate to boost its population therefore people are even offered money to get married and give birth to babies. India has a population of 144 crores out of which Nagaland has a population of only 19 lakhs (2011 census, including non-locals) and therefore we come under very low to low population and if we keep migrating Nagas as an ethnic group will be doomed in the near future. Geopolitics: Japan has invested around $2 billion in improving the infrastructure in India's Northeast which is awesome in terms of bilateral relations but such investments never come if it is not without any returns (Its same all over the world). But why Northeast? Japan traditionally emphasizes and strives to maintain it's mono-ethnicity. Now think and make your own conclusion. Let's take the example of USA. Trump promised to deport illegal migrants but why did the Democrats allow such migration? For cheap labor because the labor cost of its own US citizens is very high and therefore the cost of products becomes very high and therefore the the export rate of US is very low because no one wants to buy costly products. And what does US export? Inflation (another very long topic). To produce cheaper products the US companies invest in countries with cheap labor cost like China and that's how the US helped China in becoming the factory of the world but now the US is scared of China because of how much it has grown with their help. One example out of thousands, US citizens purchase iPhones made in China (and now India too) because its own country doesn't produce the phones and even if it does its price will soar to the sky. Therefore, Trump's promise of bringing manufacturing back to their own country will be vey, very hard because they will be compelled to even bring down the value of its currency. Why most daily wagers are the plains in Nagaland? Because they are willing to work for cheaper rate than we Nagas.
