I worked as a professional cook for 20 years and hated cooking at home since I was around food all day and had limited creativity. However, I recently quit and have reclaimed my love of cooking for my fiancé and friends. watching channels like yours give me a lot of inspiration and motivation of how I want to live in my home and care for my family. I’ve been trying lots of new recipes and techniques and having so much fun with it. I bought an omelette pan recently (nowhere as fancy as yours! 😅) and getting the hang of making tamogoyaki has been quite fun. Thanks for always bringing a moment of peace and joy to my life!

I feel sorry for you but also very happy that you are picking up the joy of cooking again! I can understand the difference I suppose… cooking as a duty or cooking as a care provider is somehow such a big difference! For me, cooking for my family is an important thing in life. I am really glad you found your love for cooking for your family again 💛💛💛

Today's unique produce was so fun to see! The Japanese yam was huge, the purple cauliflower almost didn't look real, and I never realized that's what pink daikons look like 😆 trying fun local produce is one of my favorite things about the growing season here- cant wait for farmers markets again!

I love caste iron. I have a whole collection. In the southern USA, it is a must to cook cornbread and biscuits in a caste iron skillet. My sister has my grandmother's iron and it will pass to her daughter. If properly cared for caste iron will last many life times. Much love from Dixie. 💕

The tofu looks tasty! If your husband finishes the food you prepare for him he definitely likes it! It's easy to eat just until you're full if you don't like the food, but very hard to stop until everything is gone if it's tasty

This is probably an odd question but I am curious if sesame oil in Asian countries tastes as strong as it does in the US. I love making and eating all types of Asian cuisine but when I watch it being made in its country of origin they use a lot of the oil. When I make it with ingredients I can buy locally, I have to use much less sesame oil or it over powers the other flavors. Maybe it’s just that our palettes aren’t as accustomed to the strong flavor? I do love sesame oil but I typically use much much less than what I see used in videos. 🤷‍♀️ I have been trying some of your recipes lately and have really enjoyed them. Thank you for sharing your life with us. I’m always captivated to watch normal life in your country

Linna...I'm so excited...I found another Asian food site...YamiBuy...it's in the states, in California & it looks good, with more items that I couldn't find through Amazon. I also found another place where I can buy Pork Belly!! Yippee! You have inspired me to try so many things now & I'm just overjoyed to have been Blessed to have found you, my dear, sweet friend!! Thank you so much! & Blessings♥ Ooh I love it...more toys!! lol I love cast iron...I've cooked with it for years & as long as you keep it seasoned, it will last many generations! I have 4 skillets & a kettle. You seasoned them well...I never had a kettle, but had no idea that's how they are seasoned! Thank you for showing us! My Asian dishware, more Asian utensils & Asian food items, as well came...so happy!! Yes, cast iron is expensive, but considering they last forever, just about, it's well worth the investment too. Garlic, one of my favorite Asian condiments...ginger is my second favorite! Mapo sauce...I can make it now...I have all the ingredients so I will try this very soon! Tomato, egg soup, I've never heard of, but I have everything for it as well. Yum! I think your family loves the dinner you cooked too, as usual! Thank you for sharing the recipes too! Blessings♥

I never seasoned any meat before storing, only when preparing, but sometimes I put a bit sake over beef or pork before storing to make it extra tender. Even when freezing it works really wel, just let it rest for an hour in the refrigerator before freezing. Hahaha I do exactly the same, rinsing out the bottles with some water and adding it. I love mabo nasu the most :) a little bit left over can also be added to yaku udon as meat and sauce or as topping on mayo and egg yaki udon. I always seem to have just a little bit of leftovers, not enough for a whole meal so I try to be creative with using it up and not trowing it away. Love your new kitchen gadgets! In the Netherlands such heavy pans , though not the expensive brands, can be found in almost any kitchem since traditional cooking often uses such pans. We call them simple braadpan (litterally translated broiling pan). I have some, even from my grandmother who passed away 14 years ago thats how sturdy they are and she used them a lot, but I hardly use them😅It would be great to make kare raisu or gyusuji in it. I would love such an iron kettle and have debated buying one in Japan many times but they are so heavy to ship or take in your luggage.
@LinnainJapan
@LinnainJapan Жыл бұрын
I only season pork and chicken with salt when storing. I don’t do with beef, it’s will make it too dry. I love the tradition of you using those heavy pan and they are being past down by generations 💛 so beautifully custom 🥰🥰🥰

Hello , hope you are fine. "Pot au feu" is usualy make with beef meat and not chicken otherwise you can call it " Poule au pot" and it is done with a hen 's meat, but chicken is ok. No sausages or broncoli in the traditional french receipe. Also the pot au feu is done with juice cooking of the meat and vegetables and eat all together. But your version is really looking good :) it is another and personal version of pot of feu . Take care and have a lovely week 🌺🌼
