Hey, I just returned from Japan and I stayed at Toyocho Fresa Inn with your recommendation and it was great. I like the hotel and location. It was so close to the station. Also there is another entrance to the station besides the one you mentioned just past McDonald’s on the corner. I paid like $620 for 10 nights at Toyocho during golden week. I will see if there is another Sotetsu Fresa Inn in the middle of Tokyo next time. Maybe Shinjuku or Ginza area? I’m planning to return in September. Btw, the prices for hotels are going to be going up considerably this year as tourists are flooding the city. Take care!

Thank you so much for your comment!! I hope you had an amazing time! Yes, i totally forgot to mention the other entrance! I wonder if the prices also vary by location. Definitely helps if it's closer in the middle of tokyo. When i go back i'll probably look for another Sotetsu hotel as well since!

Since I'm going solo, it makes me consider doing a capsule hotel 2 week trip during a month that is less busy sometime this year after summer. Thank you so much for watching and for your wonderful comment! I havent stayed at many hotels and the other I did stay at unfortunately closed during covid. I would probably recommend looking up the next closest Sotetsu Fresca since they're a chain. Hopefully the prices arent a lot more! My recommendation is if you're looking for hotels to also pull up a map on google and see how far it is from the train station. It'll help out a lot and saves you so much time having to walk from your accommodation to the station!

I just got back, and I stayed at nishitetsu Inn, shinjuku. Everything was close. There was a McDonald's across the street, a police station, restaurants, Family Mart, etc. The hotel had a locker in the lobby, so you were allowed to check in and store them if the room wasn't ready. I had a layer over on my way back in Honolulu so, I enjoyed the hell out of that and even added two days extra.

So do you buy the bus ticket at Haneda airport first telling them you need to get to your hotel and pay accordingly? Or just pay the bus driver? Also can you pay by credit card. I heard recently due to the value of U.S dollar being higher than Yen, it’s best to pay in Yen to get more value from your U.S dollar.

You can purchase the bus ticket online or pay as you get on the bus with cash. You can do currency exchange for japanese cash at your bank or at the airport when you land.

Hi. I’m going to be there in Tokyo alone for the first time ever in May for 10 days. I’m coming in from Haneda airport. So cheapest way to get from airport to this hotel is train, but bus seems less headache without transfer? Also what if I want to get around Tokyo ? Should I just get a train/rail pass like JR pass, buy individual pass for where I want to go specifically , or just walk? I don’t plan to take a day visit to another city since it’s my first time in Japan and likely need all 10 days to enjoy Tokyo, but if I do, should I buy it in advance for like Yokohama ? Thx.

Hi! To get around tokyo i would recommend train and walk. JR pass is not needed. But you will need a card to load up money (suica or pasmo) when you go in and out of the train station. I think they have an app option now if you dont want to hold a physical card. For Yokohama just the train and walk will suffice. No JR pass needed. Have fun!

Might not be that low anymore but still relatively cheaper than most hotels around. Hopefully i can return soon and give an update with different hotels and post-pandemic prices

Hi! It's located in Tokyo but i think the area/neighborhood would be considered Toyo? Someone please correct me if I'm wrong. The train station would be Toyocho station if that helps!

Thats what i paid. This video is based on my individual experience. Prices vary season to season and this video is a year old. Sotetsu is still cheaper comparatively to a handful of chain hotels.

Whatever you do don't stay in APA hotels unless you want a really horrible experience and the owners of APA are some of the most vile people in Japan. Unfortunately #onlyinjapan got paid to endorse them so I stopped watching his channel. I won't be supporting people who take money from vile people.

I read up about that! When i was looking for hotels a lot of APA popped up and i was purposely trying to avoid it.
