It's not just the implementation that is bad, they actively chose to degender the avatars and even if you manage to create something vaguely make or female they would not pose or move adequately.

You still need Type 1 and type 2 body. It is a good compromise to people who cares about gender diversity.

I wanna bet they didn't even MADE those new avatars is far more likely we are seeing the old male body mesh with the old female head mesh on top deformed in some 3d software like zbrush and that's it. Because if one pays attention to the new hair styles is obvious the team behind this abomination are incapable to model even those ugly things. And knowing the amount of money Niantic have at theirs disposal and all the time it took to make THIS only make it all even more awful.

It's been a disaster ever since they released it without the option to use a joystick. Niantic is such a garbage gaming company. The region locked events and Pokémon are the reason why I quit. It's sad when the Niantic openly admits it hates children and disable people.

People of culture, demand to have culture. The avatar system sounds good but if you remove something that originally good… Yeah, not so good. When I show it to my artist friends they gave the game critique and gave me the optimal ratio to have the female body ratio. I made a buff busty Lillie… So yeah…

I never played pokemon go since i despise it but what in the name of jesus christ were they thinking. If literally everyone says its bad and even Japanese people say its bad than you know you fucked up REALLY bad.

I have the frigging opposite problem where my character looks very overweight in the face. I'm happy for the fact that i can finally have long hair but goddamn if my avatar in a gym looks like it needs a good workout

I do not play this game but I feel second hand apoplectic rage at some of the comparison shots showing how peoples avatars were butchered. My very progressive friend who normally is all for this kind of change was the one to complain to me about this, so this really appeals to no one I believe.

I can see where they were going but the implementation was just not very good. I haven't played Go in quite a few years, though I have many great memories from the exciting early days!
