Remember, everyone can file a class action lawsuit against Niantic for scamming players when they broke all cosmetics which are paid for. They also need to be sued for broken servers, increase prices, removal of daily raid passes, and capping us to earning 50 gold per day for no reason. They refused to give refunds. Sue Niantic.

Unfortunately, when signing the terms of service to play the game, you agreed to an arbitration agreement, which prevents litigation. I'm not a lawyer though, so you might be able to get around this.

This makes Niantic look like a corrupt company. If they wanted to play everything safe they would have just added a new model and kept the original male and female avatars. And added new hairstyles.

@@Sypitz what makes this so bad is that this was tested and received poorly. And even after receiving the poor feedback. They continued to go on with the screwed up avatars. What they did with the remote raid passes was bad. But this puts the nail in the coffin. Imagine being someone that’s into fashion and investing a lot of money into some of the outfits. Then Niantic drops an update that changes everything you had. Clothes no longer looking the same. I’m not one of those people that purchase outfits in the game. But I do feel bad for the ones that did. They had one job and that was to listen to the fans.

My main complaint about this is that all the faces (especially the female ones) just... Look weird. It's as if they didn't belong to that body, it's kinda of uncanny actually

Its literally a multi billion dollar company (9 billion to be exact) and they couldn't hire competent staff to do this. There is just no excuse. Maximum example of enshiitification.

But they DO have competent staff. The higher ups just don't listen to them, same as they don't listen to the players, and don't give them the time or resources they need. This is a Top down problem, not a worker problem.

The worst part is that they took something that was already perfect in comparison and replaced it with this. If a VTuber debuted a new model this awful she would lose subscribers and money. What pisses me off is that people will still play the game and spend money in it making it impossible for any of them to listen to us. And some of those people spending money are complainers.

Is not a bad implementation of a good idea... They intentionally degendered and uglified players avatars. What you see is the final product, exactly what they wanted.

I just do not like that all the things i spent money for look terrible and do not even fit my character anymore on top of that my character looks ugly as hell and face looks so dead. It's so dumb. So lazy. So rushed. Just revert back to the old avatars and I will be happy.

I dislike the fact that they made all of our faces look like overgrown babies, I dislike that we can’t give our characters beards, and I dislike that they completely removed male and female from the options. I think they could leave the option they have now but also give us back the option to select male or female. This whole update seems like a massive L

ALSO not only this, BUT the price of coins for Turkey has increased significantly. 100 coins use to cost 4.99TL and now it is 39.99TL WHAT is that Niantic. I’m on the verge of just deleting the game for good.

Make no mistake, the Pokemon Go community is in a toxic abusive relationship with Niantic. They don't listen to us and they don't care about our opinion. They treat us like garbage because they know how much we love the game. They have us trapped in a dependency cycle. But like every other abusive relationship, the abused will eventually see the truth and seek freedom. Is this the tipping point? Will we seek our freedom? I think for many the answer will be yes. Support those who support you. Leave this abusive relationship before you really get hurt.

Not giving us the choice to keep the old body avitar designs whas straight up wrong. Also there are not enough laws for online consumor products yet to really do anything about this. I mean this is the online equivalent of aomone stealling your shirt, burning it, and giving you a new one that doesn't fit. They still ruined your old shirt, despite giving you a new one.

I focus far more of my time and all my gaming money on Pokémon Sleep now. They actually seem to care about the players and don't constantly abuse us and lie to us. Also, they fix bugs fairly quickly. Additionally, when there is an issue that negatively impacts players, they give better compensation especially when compared to Niantic.

Yes man! My thoughts exactly. I love pokemon go, it's got a special place in my heart and I've been playing pretty consistently for a few years. While I have been less than impressed with many of their decisions since 2021 overall it's been playable and honestly really enjoyable on the PVP side of things. However, the uncanny, ugly avatars combined with putting the pokecoin purchase screen at the top has flat out turned me off. I don't even want to open the game anymore. The game that I love and have poured a stupid amount of hours and effort into. What's frustrating is it has the potential to be truly amazing. Raising my own pokemon was the dream as a kid, ya know. Everything has it's time.

Most players ive seen in Pokemon GO have purposely mess their fashion sense in their avatars. Well damn, i cant blame players being uproared on niantic for this feature. As if the mess they made is not enough, they might purposely made the game to discourage players to play the game (Just my theory). Im a fat person, and i personalize my avatar based on my looks and dress it nicely. Not to wear like a fool.

if Niantic actually care about LGBTQ+ people and communities, they need to give people the option for their old avatars back. Since I think this update is making people (who would otherwise not care) transphobic. And giving openly transphobic content creators more reach and "I told you so" moments. Although at this point the damage may have already been done.

Here's an interesting observation - woke marketing has the power to influence even the way avatars are represented. Nowadays, it seems that every avatar looks transgender, which can be quite amusing.

I don't really care that much, I mean sure it's fun to change looks, but it's moreso just what it means. People care, Niantic refused to listen to overwhelming feedback and pushed it anyway, and it's super buggy and players lost items they spent dollars on and Niantic's support sucks horribly. Even though it doesn't matter much to me, it's just telling.

If anyone here plays pokemon go and hates the new update. If you want your female player character to look a little better pick the body with the smallest waist and slide the hips to max and the chest to 2 below the max and put muscle to zero. Won't look like the old one but will be a bit better

I don't understand how SO MANY people are spinning this into being about a "woke agenda," it's so stupid. Body types exist, not everyone is going to be extremely curvy. This has to be about lack of communication and things being broken, not spun into hate speech. I've seen so much hate speech and it's fairly depressing. In the new update I can actually look like myself instead of a cookie cutter "ideal" body type and it made me very happy.

You are right not everyone looks like that but some people do and also this is a videogame I should be able to look how I want if I think I look ugly irl then I want to be able to create a character that looks good not everyone defaults to trying to make themselves in games

I don't see how people think these avatars are "ugly" etc, my only complaint is how a lot of the clothes clip with the body and the lack of tan skin tones.
