This is my Japanese farm homestay experience! I spent the night in an old Japanese farmhouse, and woke up at 4am to harvest soybeans out in the fields! Farmstays are always such a cool experience, recommend you try one if you have the chance🌾

Sharla is a hero. Scared of heights - still goes on a roller coaster. “That dark basement of the abandoned power plant is scary - let’s explore it!”. Needs to wake up at 4 a.m.? Sharla appears fresh and shining with a smile! Compare to Chris who filmed a whole scene about how hard it is for him to wake up for the fish market.

Its produce as it should be. People know the value of fresh picked produce. Its sad that in Australia consumers think a punnet of strawberries that is only harvested 3 months in the year by hand should only cost $2. It shouldnt be cheap. I loved being in Japan and seeing the respect they provide their home gròwn produce.

I can’t imagine doing such intense manual labor as they do but to add on the fact they didn’t have a harvester vehicle until 20 years ago REALLY makes you appreciate and not take for granted what we have as far as modern harvesting at farms.
