I am so impressed how restrained you were. I would have bought so much more - I have no self control - I am impressed and so inspired - I am going to try hard to restrain myself and ask “Do I really need it?” Such a fantastic range of beautiful items. Your videos are always filled with such great excitement and I am soo happy and excited for you to have fun with all your new items. So many great tips. Thanks so much for sharing a great trip and all the tips!! Varsha

Thanks for the message! I’m surprised you are impressed with my self control because I almost had none! Lol. I felt like I couldn’t control my spending but I thought told myself that I will only buy things I will use and not just pretty things to look at. There were so many kawaii objects around and I’m glad I put the stuff back on the shelf!

I have a lot less self control. I am hoping to do better next year but I have bought so much this year, I will have enough of everything for next year 😂🙏🏽

I went to the flagship store the end of August this year and got a leather tag on my wrapping! I watched so many haul videos leading up to our trip and people saying to ask for gift wrapping for all the little extras. I also went to the Tokyo station store and they were a bit funny when I asked them to wrap what I had purchased, maybe it’s just that store 🤷🏼‍♀️

Thank you for sharing your experience and the beautiful haul! When I asked for gift wrap at the Tokyo Station Traveler's Factory, they wrapped it with a brown leather tag, so I'm not sure why that might have changed. It must have been so cool to get the 2024 products in person, though!
@toxmot
@toxmot Жыл бұрын
Hey! Yes, I was over the moon to be able to pick up the 2024 releases in person. So surreal. Interesting that you received the leather tag with no question. They must have changed it now - I think I did see it as an add-on option. We will have to wait to see other vlog videos to see if that is the case going forward. I have a tag from years ago but lost it lol. Thanks for watching :)

Thank you so much for sharing! Everything is marked up so much when you're outside Japan, I wouldve taken advantage and bought a lot of stuff that I would have otherwise not been able to! I enjoyed watching your haul and listening to your experience and thought process of getting everything

Thanks for the lovely comment - when I was buying all the stuff, I felt guilty at the same time for buying so many. I would never get that many at one time at home and going to Japan and putting things in my cart - it felt like I was hoarding. Lol. But no, I am telling myself they are my treasures…

Thx for watching - we used Sakura mobile but there are many great ones at the airport. The main reason why we went with Sakura was so I could purchase it in advance before arriving. It did take a bit of time to locate the kiosk but they provide an envelop to drop the device into a mailbox so that was convenient upon departure.

I think you get a leather tag if you’re wrapping a cover. You don’t get one if it’s just inserts or accessories.

Hey. Great video. Never been to Japan but would love to and visit Travelers Company and Grand Seiko. Can you write on the Tea Infused Paper with fountain pens? Or is that only with ball point? Just want to know if paper bleeding happens on that paper. Keep up the great work. Just showed up on my feeds this first time.
@toxmot
@toxmot Жыл бұрын
Hey, thanks for your comment - I actually have yet to do a test on that tea infused paper. My gut tells me it most likely will bleed on certain inks. It feels very very textured. Perhaps I’ll do a test in a future video.

I think if I ever go to Japan and visit the Travelers Factory stores, I have to come up with a wishlist and only buy those. Because I don’t want to buy so many things I won’t use. But that’s just wishful thinking lol. I’m sure when I’m actually there, I will be too excited and want to buy so many things.
@toxmot
@toxmot Жыл бұрын
Yes, I was sooo excited when I finally was there and I just wanted everything. Of course, in the end I picked up the stuff I think is my favourite and those that I “need” to take home with me. Also having a limited time there also helped I guess - the longer I’m there in the shop I think the more is going to go in my cart.

Lovely items! Thanks for sharing - I hope I can get over to Japan sometime. If I do, I know I'll want to hit all of the great stationery shops. :) BTW, the horn on that brass button is called a post horn. If you don't mind me nerding out for a minute, haha..the actual post horn does resemble a French horn, so you're right. :) A graphic symbol - a line drawing of a muted post horn - figures prominently in a novel by Thomas Pynchon - The Crying of Lot 49. That symbol looks more like a bugle to me than a post horn, but in the novel it is called a post horn. In this Wiki article you can see photos of actual post horns plus graphic images of them - including the Crying of Lot 49 "Trystero" symbol of a muted post horn. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Post_horn

I totally enjoyed reading your nerd notes :) I had no idea that it was a post horn - I didn’t even know it existed. Thank you so much for the detailed explanation! The charm is even more cooler now after learning about it. Makes much more sense now. I think for us stationery lovers, it’s well worth a trip to visit the Mecca of stationery. There’s just too many things to see in Japan.
@arguchik

@@toxmot Japan is definitely the Mecca of stationery! Japanese stationery has changed my life, I'm not exaggerating. I've always been a journaler, and have been using fountain pens since about 1997, but I had no idea how much of a difference nice paper makes. I think I first heard about Tomoe River Paper from The Pen Habit's KZbin channel around 8-9 years ago.

Yeah, the Tokyo station store is a little hesitant to wrap purchases. I think it's coz they just get too much traffic.
