Japan Stationery Vlog #3: Tobichi + Haul (Hobonichi Store)

Hey Everyone,
Here is vlog #3 of my Japan Stationery Vlog series.
I am visiting Tobichi Shop which is Hobonichi’s retail store. They have moved to a new location since my first visit 6 years ago. This location is much larger. The location is very close to Nakameguro Traveler’s Factory and Starbucks Reserve. I used one day to hit all of these shops up. Make sure to check the opening times of these shops to plan your day.
The first part of this video is checking out all the covers and such. I had no plans of buying a cover because I hadn’t decided on one. The weeks I wanted to get was sold out in the English version.

I hope to figure out my Hobonichi line up soon - so many choices!

Yasashii means gentle/nice so its a gentle towel. I love it, in japan is common for people to carry their own hand towel for drying your hands on public bathrooms.

Oh thank you for letting me know! It really is such a soft towel. I did see many hand towels for sale but this one is much larger than the usual hand towels people used. I could be wrong but my guess is that this is a face towel.

I am so glad you got that bag - I am a tote person and also love that design. That banana is so funny and fun, I bet you could use it for transfer /rub on transfers too!! I am not a Weeks person but really like a couple of weeks so much, I would have got the Moomin one but by the time I realised they were sold out - or maybe not available to international customers - not sure. - I watched Moomin as a kid - showing my age now 😜 I wonder if your could use the towel as a travel towel. What a nice message, thank you so much!! and from the UK! :) It’s on my list of places to visit. This year, so many weeks have unique designs that stand out to me. I chose 1 weeks. I can’t wait to do a sit down Hobonichi chat video. I actually failed my Hobonichi weeks for 2023 by not using it. Somehow I hope for 2024 I will learn to use it habitually. The moomin is usually only sold within Japan. I’ve seen Japanese resellers list them on Etsy for a marked up price. Maybe I should start watching Moomin :) Have a great week!

Love this! The mini banana hammer is both funny and adorable. :) And Tobichi...sigh. Every time I see someone handle that Indigo Sashiko A6 cover I feel so tempted by it. I really don't need any new covers this year, though. I already treated myself to a second-hand Mina Perhonen Piece cover - the Original mix from 2014, which I found for a great price...and I absolutely adore it. Plus I don't think I would like a tri-fold cover. Thus far I have resisted purchasing one. Fingers crossed I can keep resisting, haha.

The Sashiko seems to be sold out everywhere. That makes it easier to not buy! Haha. It’s a beautiful cover though. I tried a tri-fold and it takes up more room on my desk when open. Nice find on the second-hand Mina Perhonen cover. I love the older versions of the piece covers but never owned them. I think…I have decided to not get any Hobonichi covers..not 100% yet though.

Thanks so much Jennifer! I think I’m getting closer to finalizing my line up for 2024. And yes, it includes 1 weeks which I picked up today. So excited.
