Those goat/deer animals are called “serows”. When we were hiking the mountain trails, we saw a funny sign with a picture of one that read, “I live near here, so sometimes I’ll meet you. I’m gentle.” The wording was both hilarious and reassuring at the same time.

That little corner that looked like a movie set reminded me of Chris's set, which is definitely a compliment to the people who built it. Also if anyone has played or watched a playthrough of the game Stray, I'm convinced those twisty mazes of alleyways with business were an inspiration for a lot of the city design in the game.

when I first started watching KZbin I was (and still am) trying to learn all I can about Japan I started following you along with chris and Natsuki and eventually paolo from Tokyo and I follow a bunch of other people, but among your first vlogs I saw was your ear haircut at Bonita Bonito so I've been following you for about six years, thank you so much by the way for all those awesome vlogs you've taught me so much over the years, I can truly say you're definitely a tough cookie you've been through a lot, but yet you still press forward and you still go on with life and that is what I admire so much about you. unfortunately that mascot has got me totally stumped. gomenasai Sharla san. 🤷♂️

I used to live in the Kunohe/Noda area during 2013 so was nice to see even just a little part of it again! Noda salt ice cream is really good so highly recommend it if you pass through again! The mascot from Kuji is an 海女 who free dive and collect seafood (mainly uni) every year. Kuji was put on the map by the drama あまちゃん and Iwate-ben phrases were popularised like じぇじぇじぇ.

I love the local dialect stickers!! When talking with my friends on Line, I always use 栃木弁 stamps 😂💕 I’m trying to remember the mascot you showed since it does seem familiar from your older videos, but I can’t quite recall the backstory lol. I always get a kick of seeing the stamps that you collect. I make stamps as part of my job, but they're always so tiny and with a ton of space dedicated to the rolling date, I hardly ever get to do nice, BIG images like those! From minute 16:00 I was last month in Hachinohe and drank in a bar in that alley with a lokal dentist. That was a crazy adventure. 😅 And the quality in that little Izakaya you been eating bevor, is amazing. I recoment them.

I noticed when you were digging thru the rocks that you were kind using your fingers. I have a tip so you don't ruin your nails or damage them. Use your knuckles any time you need to use your fingers for scraping, scrubbing, digging, etc. Just think Gorilla 😂 I know it's kinda funny but that's how I remember lol. When collecting the rocks i wouldve found the shapes most closely mimicking the rock outline of the sea from the view of the store, and try to recreate the seascape as a backing. I guess l Ike a 2d suiseki kind of thing

I highly recommend watching the Hachinohe Sansha Taisai one year to see the floats moving and unfolding! I think they are even better than the lantern style floats in Aomori.

About the mascot, it's clled '' Kamome no Sailor-kun'', which means'' Mr. Sailor, the seagull''. It's an icon of a local snack company which sells sweets called '' Kamome no Tamago'' that means seagulls' eggs.
