What I like about Chris in Abroad in Japan is that he isn't just talking about an interesting subject, he's really very clever and sly about his topics, and he is both smart and well-read in general. Many other KZbinrs in general don't match up, with a lack of insight, wit, or just plain research that really shows. Well done.

I swear by ウコンの力. When I drink wine, sake or Strong Zero, I tend to get a headache the next day no matter how little I drink. If I drink ウコンの力 before, 9/10 times I will not get a headache. Totally worth it. It is funny how much of a reflex it is for Japanese people to buy them when planning a night of drinking.

Loved watching this channel grow over the years. It's been so much fun! Congratulations Chris, you deserve every bit of it! The studio looks incredible! Ha funny it's called gaba. I am a veterinary nurse and we use a medication called gabapentin (also used for humans) and we call it gaba for short. Not only does it help for pain but it also has a behavioral effect for fractious/anxious animals. Fun fact I thought I could share.

Chris should do a journey across Japan lockdown edition live stream. Where he's on a cycle machine in his studio with guests and someone has to be on the machine peddling at all times, while chatting on a live stream. 24 hours or something like that. Get the trash taste boys and some of Tokyo creative in there.

Watching this after the studio reveal video so recognized the background! Japan really is so varied with their snacks. They will combine the weirdest things. Also given how much drinking alcohol is part of the culture it doesn't surprise me that they have hangover cure stuff. Also the energy drinks are probably cause so many people work late hours.

The Genji Pies look exactly like a pastrie from Germany called "Schweinsohr" (which directly translates to pig ear). I guess that's where it originated from, seeing other typical german pastries that are popular in Japan (like Baumkuchen).

Just wanted to say, I really appreciate you're still making these kinds of videos! I know you've said that you think us subscribers expect more from the channel than videos where you're just talking to the camera in a room, but that's not true. Obviously we love the videos where you document and explore parts of Japan, while engaging in hijinks with Natsuki, Connor, Pete(s), Joey and most importantly, Risottoro... But, it's also great to have the more casual videos like this one, so please don't stop making them! Keep doing what you're doing - there's no pressure to have to always 'up' your content just because you "are KZbinr" now :D

I brought back so much Ukon no Chikara when I moved back home. I do not go to any party without drinking it. I'm not a huge drinker, but I now get horrible hang overs. But I take one bottle of that and the next morning all I feel is hungry. No headache, no vomiting. Just "I could go for some breakfast right now". It's amazing. 10/10 would recommend. it must be taken BEFORE you drink. If it's gonna be a heavy/long night, take two!
