Yes, and I think it's very worthwhile to visit. Whether they truly believed in a god or not, they and the large number of people who came to pray to the god respected the work. Most of the shrine ceremonies are on New Year's Day, and almost everyone goes to the shrine on New Year's night. Usually, the shrine is used as a place to make donations and vows to the gods.
