The voiceover has literary vibes to it. The tangent with the cat and the GameCube controller instructing the narrator to meet up with a raccoon could’ve been a plot line in a Murakami novel. Excellent 10/10 content.
@bolengerin3 ай бұрын
It may be almost literary, but it is also a description of the start of the Game Cube game Animal Crossing. He switches into Anthony Bourdain "Kitchen Confidential" style description for the ramen too. Does a good impression of him if compared to Bourdain's narration of his own audiobook.

Thanks I loved this video, subscribing now! I am staying 3 months in Japan starting with 1 month in Sapporo and loving it here!! The second ramen place you went to I happened to go yesterday and I found it sooo Good! I am not a fan of Gyoukai (sea food) based broth so I got into a different place and left right after I found they specialized in shrimp broth, then I found this, it was empty but it had delicious pork/meat broth miso ramen and it was really yummy. My favorite ramen so far has been the one at 'Ramen Shingen Minami 6 Jo Branch', lines are always loong but so yummy!

I've only recently discovered your channel but am loving your content. Your humor and overall presentation are engaging and very human. Loved the game references you worked in, and I too probably did irreparable damage to my palate care/of piping hot pizza rolls in my childhood. Comparing your older content to newer, there is a demonstrable progression of technique in both camera work and overall video production. Transitioning from exclusively shorts to occasional longer form videos can be challenging. Trying to come up with nine minutes worth of script for a single video can be daunting. Keep that humor coming! Just watch out for anthropomorphic animals and their shady real estate businesses.

The “why” I love your content, and why we share EXTREMELY similar philosophies on food was just revealed to me; Chef Bourdain was a major inspiration to you and a major reason why you got into food service/hospitality…. SAME. For my generation (late millennial/early zoomer) he absolutely revolutionized how the general public viewed food. He changed the lexicon and vocabulary of a society regarding food and made it trendy to simply make THE best dish in an area out of a hole in the wall on the side of a state highway. He got people to realize the actual good ish is NOT under a well lit, manicured corporate sign 9 out of 10 times.

I think I literally eat in the same ramen place in that tiny alley in Sapporo, when we arrive there with some friends, it didn't look like a serious alley to eat, but indeed the ramens there are from another world, and the butter with sweet corn makes it incredible.
