This looks exactly like my YD305. Same binding and accents on the back spine. Mine is a 1975 made in Negoya. It plays beautifully and the bass sounds like a piano. I’m pleased to say mine is in even better shape than this one too

Hi Beyonder1881 , it's a 305 and I still have it and it still sings. Fantastic guitar and all hand made. The early s.yairi's before they went out of business were all hand made by one craftsman. They closed shop because they couldn't compete with automation of the industry and refused to abandon hand crafting over profit. I found very little about the early years of S.yairi and they are almost unknown outside of Japan. They are fine guitars and can be picked up cheap and in very good condition.

Are back and sides solid rosewood? I have one sada yairi hand crafted in negoya for memphis guitars. Still wondering if the back and sides are laminated or not.

No solid rosewood.. The higher range SD yairis are superb instruments.. you cant go wrong trust me

Hi! I have a S Yairi model 9106. I am missing a bushing and therefore I would like to replace the tuning machines. Could you please tell me what would be the best matching set of tuning machines to replace the old ones. Thanks! Andrew

I'm sorry to say I don't remember. This video was made quite a long time ago now.

It is YD-305. The grounds are that the backboard is a three piece of rosewood and that the tuner is Sharler gold.From the roundness of the head, it is probably from 1976 to 1978.

I did find out it's not that old. 1990 Solid spruce top, rosewood laminate back and sides.........MIC. .....very Martin like though. Thanks for your reply.
