The onion meatballs sound like heaven. And the rice ball directions are great to know. And the omelette methods seem just wonderful. It amazes what we don't know about other cultures' cooking techniques!

This may sound like a strange question, but how do you eat these lunches? Do you eat them cold or room temperature, or do you warm them up? Can the box itself go in the microwave or oven?
@JapaneseCookingChannel

Thanks for your question! This bento box is not microwavable, so my husband will eat them room temperature :)

Well since this vid is already more than one year old i probably wont get an answer. But seeing these wonderful Bento-Boxes i always wonder if those are meant to be eaten warm or cold? like do you have to eat them before they get cold? Do you reheat them in a microwave before you eat them? Or are they meant to be eaten at room temperature or even out of the fridge at work or something like that.
@JapaneseCookingChannel

Thank you so much for watching my video! We usually eat it at room temperature. It's still very tasty at room temperature. If your bento box is microwave-safe, you can warm it up in the microwave before eating. In Japan, some people may warm it up, but basically it is eaten at room temperature (or cold).

Hello! Thank you so much for your amazing videos and channel. Would it be okay if I know which bento box brand you use? I would like to purchase a metal bento box as well. Much success! God bless 🌸💖

Can u suggest some non-alcoholic substitute for mirin and sake?
@JapaneseCookingChannel
@JapaneseCookingChannel Жыл бұрын
You can skip sake. For mirin, you can use a little sugar for it.

There is a website? I wasn't aware of that. Bookmarked. Looks to be other fun articles besides cooking. I know what I'm doing this weekend. EDIT: I'm wondering about the octopus sausages. The skin of the sausages is such a bright red that it reminds me of sausage with plastic skin. But I don't think you'd fry them with the skin on if it was plastic, it would melt. Is it some special kind of sausage that has the skin dyed red? Or maybe it's a special plastic skin that doesn't melt.
@JapaneseCookingChannel

Thank you for looking at my website! About the octopus sausage, it is not plastic. I'm not sure but maybe the red color is made from a plant-derived coloring.

I would LOVE to see more vegetarian recipes! People like me, with kidney disease, have to limit our intake of protein, so something simple is best with no meat. You've posted a lot of meat dishes lately, so I'd like to see something without it please? Otherwise, I love watching your videos! 🙂

Thank you for watching my channel! In the recipe of #1 and #4 of this bento video, how about using tofu instead of sausage and ground pork. I will think about making vegetarian recipes too 😊
