Our parents took us to Coney Island occasionally. We were just over the bridge in NJ. I loved the wooden roller coaster and Nathan's hot dogs. I'm still partial to wooden coasters.

Love coney dogs, and chili bacon cheeseburgers. Before pandemic lock down caused a bunch of small restaurants to close, I knew a dessert restaurant that put various fillings in those waffles on sticks (hot dogs, bacon, chocolate chips, cheese & corn, peanut butter & jelly, peanut butter & banana, strawberry, Nutella, etc).😎👍

Yeah, I looked it up after and it seems there are so many regional variations they could have done about anything as long as they had a meat sauce. Hopefully I can try them all one day ;)

I feel like I might have commented about this in a past video but our state fair in Ohio always has several fried cheese options and while most places use mozzarella, there is one that does pepper jack and it is soooo good. The batter is cornbread, like a corndog.

I was disappointed by the cheese waffle's lack of cheese pull. It's similar to the Cheese on a Stick from Hot Dog on a Stick. Aaron was definitely right about it being a county fair type item. The Coney Dog is a specific style of hot dog. It should have a beef frank and meat sauce with no beans. Oddly, it is most popular in Michigan.

Hot Dog on a Stick used to be in every SoCal shopping mall food court in the 80s/90sbut now I've only seen them at Redondo Beach and Santa Monica Piers

Yeah, it was lacking in the cheese department for sure... :( I looked up info about the Coney Dog and there are many different styles but the main thing is definitely the meat sauce👍

Shame about the lack of cheese pull on the waffle cheese dog. The hot dog with meat sauce is a bit nicer. Fun event for the family with kids. For myself, I'm took old and tired to walk around for my food. Prefer to sit down and have it brought to me these days. ;)

I'm from NY if its coney island hotdogs is usually sauerkraut and/or sweet relish with mustard. But chili cheese can be an option. Also onions cooked in tomato sauce. Maybe coney is used loosely as in any hotdog with toppings.

It is open to interpretation depending on where you live ---but I would say it's kinds like a beanless chili that is not really spicy... ;)
