I love watching your videos! Loving this Video especially! I was born in Okinawa but I now live in Delaware (the first state). My parents are currently living on Yokota Air Force base. Watching these videos makes me feel like I’m at home again❤️

Guys, I'm glad you mentioned King Taco. Their taco rice is fantastic, my family loves their food!! Highly recommend to anyone coming to Okinawa.

It's always a joy to see your handsome faces. You both look wonderful in your blue aloha shirts. Whenever I see you wearing one, Shinichi, I think about what good friends we would have been as kids in Hawaii.😊🌺 The food all looks scrumptious! That does it, I''m moving to Japan and just eating out of the Family Marts, 7-11s and vending machines! The choices you have! Beats anything out of 7--11 in the U.S. I love tempura veggies & shrimps, that is my fav thing 🍣🍤 Love your smile Satoshi! 🤩

When I worked in downtown Honolulu at GTE in the early 90’s there was a little street cart that sometimes sold the spam egg and rice sandwiches. I loved the rice and nori in place of bread.

I love tempura, my favorite is American sweet potato tempura. I’ve never had Japanese sweet potatoes of any kind. I have had the South American Ube tho...they are dark purple and very starchy and sweet.

Great rainy day video. I wonder if the tempura would be crispy if it was hot? And if Sinichi is delighted by yellow sweet potato, you need to try sweet potato from the US East Coast. It is orange. We have lots of peanuts too. I wonder if anyone has tried to make tofu from them?

Enjoyed this video and learning about convenience foods in Okinawa and how most are not found in Tokyo. All of it looked delicious! Would be fun to try the taco rice potato chips!

The bready pizza actually reminds me a lot of pizzas here in France -- sometimes they are on foccacia bread so it's more bread than pizza toppings! :)

Umami means ‘savory’…it’s the fifth taste, along with salty, sweet, sour, and bitter.

I think Okinawa is unique because of their food culture. We don’t have any tokyo specific items at our Family Mart.
