5:55 I just went to this store yesterday. I told the wife that I know of their store because of you. She was so thankful and told her husband. The husband gave me a Japanese chocolate biscuit. So sweet! Regarding quality, this place changed my friend’s mind about uni. She never liked uni until yesterday. And the rice was sooo soft and a bit on the warmer side with the perfect about of vinegar.

I've encouraged myself to try some sushi out at this local japanese restaurant here in NC and as what i expected, it tasted nothing like the original one. Even my mom's homemade sushi tastes better

my wife is Japanese too. But we live in Hawaii so if we can't make it , we can find Japanese restaurant that has what we want & crave. We make a mean bowl of Miso Ramen soup & gyozas at home though. WE live on Big Island so we do have cool winters too. Which means Nabe party in the winter. We have miso soup at any meal. My wife can make homemade miso paste. Can never get enough of that. Aloha

It’s a myth that eating spicy food ‘burns out’ your taste buds. In fact, it’s more the opposite. After eating lots of spicy food, I can actually more clearly taste the underlying flavors of different kinds of peppers instead of just being ’shocked’ by the heat part. The complex flavors of the other spices also then stand out more too.

I just drooled on my phone. That sushi had me. Seared salmon is always my favorite. There is something about the temperature/texture/flavor variances in that piece that gets me. I’m amazed how every piece of sushi from that conveyor restaurant was gigantic.

While living in Okinawa, I felt I was spoiled with the freshest seafood caught off the waters there. Conveyor belt sushi / sashimi is by far the best way to have sushi. If ever in Okinawa, do look up CoCo Ichibanya Curry and try level 10. It's not like Garaku curry but slightly sweet and so yummy. I really enjoyed your Sapporo food tour.
