Learn Japanese From Zero! I bought your first book and the Kanji book, i like to make the N5 test, you have a serie of books, til which level help your books? I speak 4 languages and I read Egyptian hieroglyphs, therefore the sequence of events that JFZ develop the topics is exactly what I need but I will like to know which other important books are required.

Hello, how did this book work for you? I was thinking of finally getting serious with Japanese so I also want to get a textbook for it.
@Sello_Hunter
@Sello_Hunter 4 жыл бұрын
@@geostigma3120 it actually helped me quite a lot to get started. The book does a great job in keeping things relatively simple in a good pace. It gives you a good idea about the basics of japanese grammar. You will learn things like talking about yourself and referring to objects etc first. What i basically did was learning every new word in each chapter and repeating the lessons from time to time. While doing that i always copied the questions and words from the book on a sheet of paper. That way you can repeat each lesson multiple times. After doing that a couple times it is very hard to forget what you've learned. I would strongly recommend you to learn Hiragana first though, since you will be able to read most things in the book, which will improve your speed and Hiragana quite a bit as well. So my conclusion is: this book is a great way to get started. I hope this helps, good luck learning!

I think it might be a little annoying at the beginning to not have the word written fully in hiragana but it gives you a chance to practice the writing and if your vocab and grammar is limited, you'll be able to get a lot out of the book imo. And the price is quite low (I paid 14 pounds for it!) so I think it's still a good investment :).

I'm thinking of starting with genki and later get Japanese from zero however, genki is the type of book that teaches you words and phrases you wouldn't use in everyday speech so I'm kinda thrown off with it. Should I still get genki even though I'm going to be learning things that only gradeschoolers would learn like -watashi wa- when most would say -to moshimasu-

Kevin Abroad I see, well thank you for taking the time to reply none the less. That means something too even if you can't help me with my question. In that case though could you say that the Japanese from zero books is a great place to start ? I already know hiragana and katakana along with a little kanji and grammar.
@KevinAbroad
@KevinAbroad 5 жыл бұрын
@@tomoyazahard7244 No worries :D. Hmm... I think it depends on your level of grammar. If you have almost no knowledge of grammar, I think JFZ can be good because it explains the grammar from scratch (and George's videos are great for that too). If you're quite confident, you could consider jumping straight to book 2. I would recommend that you check the content of the book and check with yourself what you already know or not. I hope that helps!

Kevin Abroad Thank you for the recommendation. I have very little knowledge just enough to make one sentence so I think I I've made up my mind I'll get this series. I would like to ask one more question if you don't mind. What is the second book you're talking about ? Is there multiple parts to the Japanese from zero series or is there something I'm missing. I'm sorry to take up your time but I appreciate everything you've told me so far.
@KevinAbroad
@KevinAbroad 5 жыл бұрын
@@tomoyazahard7244 If you have almost no knowledge of grammar then I feel like JFZ can be good for you! Even if you know the kana and some kanji, practicing the writing in between lessons will be very useful. No worries, I'm always happy to answer comments! JFZ is a book series made up of 5 books. Book 5 is only an ebook for now I believe but the other ones are both available in physical copies. I will progressively review them as I complete them so if you're interested, keep your eyes peeled :D

Intéressant. Je n'ai jamais vu d'approche progressive pour les kana. Au bout de combien de chapitres a-t-on le tout intégralement en kana? Sinon point de vue du contenu, ça a l'air d'être un bon complément à une autre méthode, histoire de varier un peu (et quand on a fait tous les exo du livre et du workbook des chapitre Genki étudiés xd).
@KevinAbroad
@KevinAbroad 5 жыл бұрын
Alors c'est 5 caractères par leçon mais vers la fin y'en a plus car il y a ceux qui se répètent genre はぱば donc ça va plus vite ! Mais sinon oui c'est un bon complément je trouve ! Surtout pour pratiquer l'écrit j'ai trouvé et comme je l'ai dit, à cause du fait que ça te montre plusieurs contexte où le point grammatical que tu apprends peut être utilisé :)

Je me suis penchée (un peu) dessus, et j'avoue que la méthode progressive me rebute. Voir tous ces romaji ça me bloque presque.
