Your pronunciation of our Swiss German is surprisingly good. Glad you enjoyed our food and thanks to the Swiss sponsors. I do the same when I'm in Japan. In fact I'm the only one who is allowed to bring food to our local isakaya 😀 one time I even brought nissin cup noodles from Switzerland to prove that there are bad nissin cup noodles.

I can only guess it is because German and Japanese have a lot of the same sounds so it’s not so hard for japanese people to pronounce german words as it is for say an American or English speaker… At least that’s what I think

I‘m Swiss and soo happy you post this on your main channel, I always enjoy to see you exploring new tastes and hope a lot of people can enjoy it too. Shinichi, your pronunciation is awesome as everytime you read german, still hear how good your german teacher was. And a compliment to the selection of treats, itˋs pure ´´Swissnesś´ with many treats known for a hundred years and older by all Swiss people, so traditional so tasty :) it was a pure pleasure to watch and I‘m kinda happy you like these treats I don‘t know why I feel happy XD - Alpensalz is just salt from the alpes/mountain, kinda rare. Zweifel chips are made from Swiss ingrediants. Raps is close related to Nanohana and itˋs the oil we produce. Zweifel is the best known chips brand, like Lays in other countries. - Wow you guessed right ´´Bretzelí´ has a hint of lemon included. They exist 110 Years now and the recipe is still like back then. I love them. - Aromat XD a swiss most used ˋˋspicèˋ, you see these shaker in restaurants too, and there is no taboo to use them. Just sprinkle all over what ever you want, pasta, veggies, sauces, meat, I like tofu with it XD -Tourist means tourist but it‘s well known as a hiker food, nuts and dried fruits. If you talk about tourist chocolate, we know which one you want :) - Silly sidefact, ˋˋFarmerˋˋ is used for every cereal / grain / granola bar in general. Even ˋˋFarmer´ is the brand and doesnˋt describe the food. If you ask someone to buy Farmer while shopping, you get a cereal-bar but it can be from every brand that exists XD - I love Chocovo but itˋs sooo dry, there is a version without chocolate around and itˋs also a hiking food (we have a lot of mountains, a lot to hike XD) best with a sip of water so you have like a malt-chocolate-drink instantly with good nutritions. They serve the drink even in the hospital to boost your health.

Some of these items must have been around for many years as my Swiss German grandfather used to talk about some of them and he immigrated here to Australia in the early 60's! He was from Lucerne, grew up near the lake there. He passed away in 2005.

@markusstudeli2997 3 жыл бұрын
There are certainly a few Swiss classics from your grandfather's time or older, like Aromat, Zweifel Paprika Chips, Kägi Frett, Ragusa and Cailler Rayon chocolate. Others are newer variations of classics, like the Ovo Rocks or the Ricola Holunderblüten. The convenience products Gerber Fondue and Knorr Zürchergeschnetzeltes I'd never trust and always prefer to make the fresh variant myself, but the Japanese guys seem to like them very much... I'm missing a few true classics like Gruyere and Emmental cheese, Bündnerfleisch, Rivella or Basler Läckerli.

Switzerland calling. You got a really nice variety of Swiss snacks. The "Farmer Tourist Bars" are a further development of the pretty popular "Tourist Chocolate". I checked the ingredients and its the same in both: Hazelnut, Almonds and Sultanas. Once in a granola bar and once in chocolate. The latter already existed when I was a toddler..... some 55 years ago :D I'm a great fan of your channel and because of you I own a "Sushi Shaker" you once introduced in a video of Daiso Gadgets. When I see something I like I simply ask my (Swiss) friend, who lives on Yonaguni-jima to send it (and she gets Aromat in exchange :D) Love you guys, Greetz from rainy cold Switzerland

@@plejade4125 Chicken salt in Aus was invented by a poultry farmer who had a small takeaway/fast food shop attached. He made the chicken salt as a seasoning for his rotisserie chickens cause he was over using just plain salt and pepper. There's no real chicken in it like chicken stock cubes or bouillon, it's a mixture of herbs and spices.

@@lmaree200886 ohh thank you so so much for this information, now I get it😁 (even I still would love to taste salt with chicken as an ingrediant) So this chicken salt ist something most of Australians know, and if you talk about chicken salt, people know what you talk about, is that right? It may be weird for people outside, but this special type is the most famous one in Switzerland. These days it get less attention but there was a time it was even like a cultural thing. It was found in every household and in every restaurant, even on each table! Aromat is even taken on a hike in some tiny sprinkler, or when you go on vacation. I know. It‘s just not that good because of little MSG and other spices in it, but I confess... it‘s soo good, even on plain noodle when you have nothing else at home to eat, it will be a delicious meal XD

@@plejade4125 I'm from austria and ppl used to use Aromat a LOT over here when i was a kid. Mostly for cooking similar to salt though. Your usage of it sounds similar to how Maggi-Sauce used to be used here. They would have it on every table in every restaurant and i know a bunch of people who would put it on almost everything they eat. However MSG got a huge amount of media attention here and so Aromat, Maggi and similar stuff containing lots of MSG lost popularity. Recent research shows that MSG isn't actually that bad but people in austria would still look down on it and it's generally perceived as super unhealthy.

"Tourist" is no word in German. It's just the name of that particular bar. "Tourist" is literally the same word in English/German

MRE's would be cool, but it can be problematic to get a hold of in some countries. You may have to know some one who is currently serving in the armed forces to even get it.
