Root into rock bonsai, so cool and I'm sure it will be very happy in it's new pot!!!

Excellent looking tree Graham and its amazing to see how this tree has survived with so little soil and you have to admire those roots! Now in a bigger pot, good soil and a little moss, this tree will grow like a weed! Looking forward to seeing this next time!

With the proper care and attention presented here, I can imagine this wonderful bonsai will make it to the end of the century. Hoping anyway. I'm sure the original owner would be proud of the loving care Graham is offering.

Just watched this vid again and am even more impressed. This is truly a unique planting. Hope to watch it flourish in the coming years. "Venerable" seems the best way for me to describe this work. "Awe" is what I feel when looking at it. This piece is a treasure.

Perfect timing as always. I have two smaller Larches growing on Tuffa rock and I am about to put a third onto the group. Up till this point I hadn't recongised that the roots could easily grow into the rock. I was going to tap out a lit bit of a hollow first and then secure the new tree in place and hopefully let the roots grow into the rock over time. Amazing video

What fantastic old Larch pair on a piece of tuffa rock. I have Lonicera growing on a piece of Tuffa which have grown through the rock into a layer of soil, then in a shallow bonsai pot , it was created well over ten years ago no were near the amount of time of this pair, I have changed the pot once since it was created, the roots appeared to be in good health so I left them alone, I think this year I will slide it out of the pot and check the roots and refresh the soil, so Graham thanks for the video, in a way it has given me a kick up the backside to get on with it. The two trees on mine grow like weeds they put on growth almost overnight. Hope we see you do more videos.

What a brilliant tree and video Graham, thanks for sharing. Really great to see you using so many 'specialised' tools too, hammer, cold chisel, hand brush and especially the 'mini' trowel at 18:50. I want one of those, what was it originally?

Lovely old specimen! I’m happy to see it’s now in the care of such knowledgeable & capable hands. And may I please ask, why you have what looks to be a band around the two fingers on your left hand? Just curious.. ❤
@GrahamWPotter9 ай бұрын
Knackered my little finger, dislocated or fractured or something stupid. Set my lawnmower on fire and did it dealing with that as you do. Don't have the time to spend all day and night in the fucking NHS hospital so I'll just live with it.
@lorchid239 ай бұрын
@@GrahamWPotter - Ouch!! Must’ve taken quite a whack, as you have very large, strong hands. Your finger will probably always whinge whenever the weather turns particularly cold & dreary. I had a horse step on and break my big toe decades ago, and I didn’t seek medical help. It aches like hell when the weather turns nasty.

I have a question😬 even the tree is healthy, it’s still weak after the repotting, even didn’t cut any roots. I see the tree is full blooming. Is it not better for the tree to cut all the flowers while it is recovering? I ask this becourse i know the tree is pumping a lot of energy in the blooming?🤷🤷
