Japanese Listening Practice With A Story #4 | Japanese Home [Beginner Level 2]

In this lesson, you’ll learn essential daily Japanese phrases & grammar through a fun story about Japanese home!
A phrase like ‘I’m sorry’ is one of the first phrases you’ll learn in the beginner’s Japanese textbook, but do you know there are few different ways to say ‘I’m sorry’ in Japanese and when to use them? Well, let’s find out it in this lesson!
There are two main parts in this video: 1) Japanese Listening Practice with a story (without subtitles)
2) Listening the story with subtitles and explanations!
Also, I made a cultural note about ‘正座(せいざ)’ at the end of this video, just in case If you were wondering why the alien sat in seiza in the story!

I recommend Renshuu a lot more than Duolingo, as it doesn't make you put the same exact phrases 500 times before learning something new. Renshuu is based on a SRS and even has courses for grammar everything for free

A superb channel,truly ingenious and a brilliant way to learn Japanese. One question!? Have you copyrighted Midori and all his cool friends? You need to get a full line of MIDORI Merchandise published,from notebooks,stickers,teeshirts,you name it. You are sitting on a potential Goldmine! MIDORI could be as big as Hello Kitty with the right Marketing. Get those teeshirts out there ASAP! Midori is absolutely adorable and his merchandise could sell in droves! Thank you for the video! I'm a little confused though, I've always thought that sumimasen is an equivalent to the English "excuse me", so a bit more casual, used in a lot of different situations, when you are not actually asking for forgiveness. And gomennasai is an equivalent to the English "I'm sorry", so a bit more apologetic, when you've done something bad/offended someone. So, let's say, if I'm asking for directions, i'd say sumimasen, and if I bumped into someone and they dropped their phone and broke it I would be saying gomennasai. Is that wrong? You actually can't say gomennasai to strangers? I just googles it and different articles say different things 😩
