Should have included a task mid race, where the driver has to get out, load his truck then hurry up and get back in. then reach a destination point and deliver a payload. It would test the usefulness of Marty's trucks features.

Personally I prefer the Midget. I would love to see it with a proper race suspension setup, maybe a bike engine swap and possibly even skirts to match the bumper. That's definitely a car I would love to commute in!

Don’t forget this is edited footage, cutting in and out of the car, could have cut that by 5 or 6 seconds either way with both of them. This is entertainment not real testing.

Sadly soon all combustion cars, bikes including classics will be banned from public streets in entire EU and Scandinavia :-( In Germany the Green Peoples Party gave order to shorten fuel supply from 2025 on by reducing all conventional fuel stations to only one state operated central gas station per city or county. Now they want to slow down all the gas station pumps from 20 litre per minute to 2 litre per minute...From 2027 on in the EU certain car spare parts will be banned too....as exhaust systems, turbo chargers and even some engine and gearbox oils...California and New York will do the same from 2027 on.... So no investments should be done in oil burning cars any longer....They even created a new kind of crime here, called emissions and smoke crime (Bundesabgasbespassungsverbotsverordnung)!!

I think that you stuffed up the capacity challenge. You should have compared the load carrying capacity against the total weight of the vehicle. This would show which vehicle was more efficient at carrying their load.

skid pads are as much driver as vehicle.. I drove a BIG tipper truck, 10wheel western star, we were paving taxiways at a naval base and had to run what was essentially a 50x50' skid pad with soapy water in a tight circle before we could cross the flight line because when you feed the spreader you get asphalt and rocks on your tires.. talk about YEE HAAAA, grabbin 3rd with the wheel at hard lock and the navy cop signally crank it up... I think either of those utes would be a blast to drive especially the mini around town

I think the Kei truck 350-kg load limit, is actually more about a legal maximum gross vehicle weight for the Kei class, than about the actual carrying capacity. The ones that Daihatsu imported into the US in the late 80s, and early 90s, could be loaded to a 1500-lbs cargo. But those were locked into low range and could not get over 25-mph, so they had a lot less dynamic load to contend with.

While the tipper would be a better daily driver (more versatile, more capable machine), if i had a business that relied on deliveries then i would absolutely love to have a fleet of Midgets. It's small, fuel efficient, got just enough room in the back for a pizza heater, or for a box of car parts, small enough to fit inside of a regular box truck (go to a city in the big truck, park it, and use the little one to deliver stuff out of the big one). Might even be small enough to be carried on a hitch, kind of like those mobility scooters. And the spare tire being right there in the front would make the inevitable tire change incredibly quick. So yeah, i can absolutely see the benefit of either machine, they are great at exactly what they were built for. -A.W.

Loved seeing the kei truck cocking the inside wheel, doing proper skids. Mad as a box of frogs. BUT..... The Midget Is NOT a Ute. A Ute is a CAR BASED pick-up truck. The Midget and the Kei truck are both built on purpose designed chassis. Therefore neither is a Ute.
