I love this! Realistic minimalism. Thanks for not hiding the cables, clothes rack, and stuff. I am tired of feeling like my home isn't "scandy minimal white" enough. Also, you are funny as. Hello from Australia :)

I really like your apartment. I need a minimalist life too. I can't create or think with too much stuff around which is my situation I'm currently living in with my parents. My mom loves to collect and keep things, lots of things, stacked everywhere. I understand why she is like that but it is very depressing and distracting for me and my dad. I keep working on minimizing my own stuff hoping it will help. Thank you for sharing your apartment and life with us.

Hey I almost never comment on any video but I just need to tell you that what you are doing is really solid. There is such a humble and authentic aura around you and what you are doing. The topics you are discussing are always interesting and the cinematography is so no nonsense and down to earth I love it. Good on you for being such a great person.

I am in no way a minimalist, but in the last year, I have been taking inspiration in minimalism, and I have applied it to some areas of my life (but I will always be a maximalist when it comes to books and manga lol). I appreciate your honesty; as you said, on the internet, people living a simple life often present these beautiful lives, so being honest about the struggles along the way is important.

Seeing all the other Minimalists i often wondererd how flashy, new and expensive their Stuff was... Minimalism is about simplify your Life but also about saving Money while helping the Environment to LIVE A LIFE with TIME and BALANCE....not to be a Hipster in a Crisis.

I love the fact that you show that your home isn't perfect. We all have ugly areas or things that haven't been dealt with yet. That's normal. It's part of actually living day to day and it's refreshing to see, even though I do enjoy the pretty set ups I know that it's not realistic. I take issue with that toast though. Microwaves are awesome but that bread looks like it was only briefly waved over a heat source. 😋

Thank you for this video. Often I see minimalists who act like "you see I only own these 10 things" but if you look critical at them you can see that they aren´t "real" for it, because they hide some points I´m only at the beginning of my minimalism but I´ve decluttered a lot of stuff right now and it will be more. But I´m also at some point where I ask myself "what of my office stuff can go" and sometimes it´s not easy because of (in my case) the laws of your country. When I want to retire I have possibly to show that institution some important office letters. So I try to find out what other minimalists do with their office papers to find a good solution I think it´s a process and like you, I give away step by step things. And I think you live the right way of minimalism :)

Man, I like your style :) I have a pounamu pendant myself (I'm Aussie) such a beautiful land and culture. Also fellow minimalist here! I think we have a very similar amount of things, ive only really kept what was necessary and got rid of doubles of things etc. Man, the kindle was the best thing i ever bought, getting rid of all my physical books really cleared up a tonne of space for me, i can fit everything in the back of my corolla hatch without issue and drive off into the sunset if i wanted. btw your apartment is still aesthetic in your own way :)

While Shimotsuma is a minimalist in terms of furnishings, in Japan this is a large, upscale apartment. For one person to be living in this type of apartment in Japan, this person must have a good income or a family who helps them.
