WAO RYU!ONLY in JAPAN

Күн бұрын

Robots in Japan have entered the next stage! From science fiction to THEY'RE HERE right now standing next to you!
Soon, everyday life will have some kind of robot in it. Let's take a look at what's here right now and what's coming in 2015 and beyond.
In this episode, John Daub and Joseph Tame explore the world of Robots at the Japan Robot Week 2014 Expo at Tokyo Big Sight.
John also goes to Softbank's PEPPER TECH FEST to see the latest humanoid robot built with consumer generated software.
Highlights in this episode:
[Japan Robot Week]
★ Robotic Exoskeletons called "Muscle Suits"
★ The Japanese government's disaster relief robots
★ Robotic animals used for hospital patients
★ Robot taking orders at a cafe, making coffee and serving it
★ Robots that keep you company when you're lonely
[Pepper Tech Fest]
★ Softbank's PEPPER robot and its consumer software IN THE WILD
★ Albederan's NAO robot doing techno dancing
We already interact with robots in one way or another in our daily lives, but ONLY in JAPAN are robots so accepted in everyday culture. Japan is the perfect place to be the epicenter of the robot culture boom!
Will robots take over the world? (Who knows?!)
But they are here now and they are only going to become more important in our lives. We explore the reasons why:
Japan has a declining birth rate and growing elderly population.
Japan also has a lot of natural disaster: typhoons, volcano eruptions, earthquakes, tsunami ...
Robots are the key to keeping businesses running when labor shortages exist and assisting when disaster strikes as well as keeping us safe before and after.
They are also important for the elderly who will need more support. Japan has stepped up its efforts.
Hope you enjoy the report!

It's very cool! We grew up with the science fiction of robots living with human, but it's actually here! "Robots" don't have to actually look like humans (humanoids) to be a robot and we are actually surrounded by them now, many of them already hooked to the internet. It's cool! I can't imagine what the next 10 years will look like, but we got an idea of it with this video. Thanks always for watching and supporting the show, astroboy3507 really appreciate it! -John

To the offended: NIPPON or NIHON (日本) which is Japanese for "Japan" literally means "sun's origin" or translated as "land of the rising sun". The sun does come up at 04:15 in the summer so it is really true. It's also at the start of the international date line in the Pacific. I am not really sure why anyone would be offended. Japan should have a Natural Living Resource Based Economy implemented by now; because of all their Robotic Technology. Also they should develop a Nuclear Power Plant, using Thorium.
@WaoryuONLYinJAPAN
@WaoryuONLYinJAPAN 9 жыл бұрын
I had to Google parts of your post. Resource Based Economy means "a holistic socio-economic system in which all goods and services are available without the use of money, credits, barter or any other system of debt or servitude." I think that's not going to happen in the next 20 years but who knows, right? Thorium is interesting. I didn't know much about it before your post. I see India is developing this use for power so it's something we should keep an eye on. Thanks for the post, IAmIntelligence -John

I think I'd feel even worse about myself if all I had to do on a Friday night was talk to a little robot. At least, I would if I were a normal person who cared about such things. Frankly I just spend my Friday nights doing the same thing I do every night. Staring at the toilet and hope a golden bee flies out to grant me 3 wishes. A man can dream, right?

Why they made a robotic seal for lonely people when cats/dogs already exist?
@WaoryuONLYinJAPAN
@WaoryuONLYinJAPAN 9 жыл бұрын
Good question Ashley Reinhardt I thought the same thing. These are my notes from the research: old people can not always move a lot. Not everyone can walk a dog and feed a cat. Also, people sick with mental problems can not care for a real pet. In hospitals, they don't allow pets. (I wish they did!) Living pets always have feelings and they can also feel lonely -- we can't love them when they're convenient for us. PARO is a convenient pet :) I hope that helps. -John
