Terrific choices from Joe and Jen. I'm now nostalgic for those tastes of my childhood. And yes, the purple Quality Street was always the favourite for me too. 👍 I just found Heinz baked beans here in Israel. What a treat. The toast is usually buttered but I just stir a knob of butter into the beans as I heat them up as that is easier. Irnbru also brings back memories as it is Scottish and I lived for 5 years in Scotland (where my twins were born). In the UK "chips" are french fries. What you were eating are crisps - and in my opinion Walkers are the best!!

@@plejade4125 Marmite is British, Vegemite is Aussie! Just a few tips, try Vegemite and cheese and melt it either under a grill/broiler or as a toasted or grilled sandwich. And add avocado! Or make a Vegemite sandwich with cheese, tomato and lettuce. Bit unusual but good, fresh and salty! And you can use Vegemite in a soup or stew! Glad your brother enjoyed Aus! We're a massive country, far away and a bit expensive but we have lots of unique views, animals and food. It really was a great memory. My grandfather passed away in 2005. Here's how and why Quality Street chocolates were so-named en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Quality_Street_(confectionery) - based on the title of a play by the writer of 'Peter Pan'. I'm old enough to remember tins which used the original design (not _the_ original ones!) and used to get a small tin at Christmas (lucky me). Back then I thought that when we grew up we'd all get to wear the fancy Regency clothes as depicted on the tin. Life can be such a let down.

I started the video & paused it to tell you that... 1) I have already clicked 'Like' 2) the crisps (potato chips) are amazing & full of flavour & nice & crunchy 3) the cider & Irn Bru are both goooood Also, I was a massive fan of Iron Maiden in my teenage years (kind of still am). Their lead singer, Bruce Dickinson, is now a commercial airline pilot. Lol. And..... Scotland (specifically Glasgow) is one of the only countries in the world where Irn Bru sales beats Coca Cola. Legend is, that Irn Bru is made from rusted iron. Lol Lastly, the best way to eat Heinz baked beans is to put it on toast, top it with grated cheese & grill it till the cheese is melted & caramelized. Add Worcestershire sauce to give it a kick 😉

The selection choice here is really good. London Pride is my favourite beer and those Crisps are excellent. Interestingly the Brewery has just been bought by a Japanese company.

London Pride is a local brew here in (you guessed) London and one of my favourites. The "Purple One" used to have a Brazil nut inside (the shape is ;ole a Brazil nut) unless they've changed it since I last had Quality Street

It has a hazelnut & caramel inside it. Never had brazil nut.

@@jenniferahough4983 Maybe today, but as a kid (I'm 66) it was a Brazil nut I'm pretty sure. I haven't had a Quality Street "Purple One" for (they always seem to have gone by the timethey get to me and I'm left with the toffee ones).

I'm mid 50's and it's always been a hazelnut as far back as I can remember. It's a moot point though because it's no longer in the tin.

For anyone who hasent tried it and is dieting or into the gym, when cooking beans (in a pan) put in some grated cheese, a tin of tuna and some black pepper, give it a good mix and put it on some toast. Its surprisingly tasty and has loads of protein, good fats and vitamins ect ect

What is nice with beans on toast is when you sprinkle grated cheese over the top. If you ever travel here to England & stay visit the south west of the country you'll have to try a pasty

Beans on toast tastes better if the toast is buttered. I remember this one time at Uni when I ran out of butter, and had to suffer this meal without it. HP sauce also goes well with it, adding flavour, and if you're extra fancy, add some scrambled egg to that too!

@@handsoffmycactus2958 We used to call that a snakebite and black. Now what I'd like to see these two guys try a pint proper fresh scrumpy in the west country. I remember my first time, everything below my hips seemed to stop working first. Unfortunately proper scrumpy doesn't travel. I tried it once and by the time I got home, all I had was a bottle of alcoholic vinegar.

London Pride and Trooper is a type of beer we English call Bitter, the Welsh as well, the Scottish equivalent would be 80 shilling. In the south of England bitter should have no “head” (froth), so London Pride should have no head, but from the Midlands north, beer should have a head, so the Trooper should have a head of about 2 cm
