Hi Miwa... Belated happy mother's day... It was a usual day for me on mother's day... Nowadays I started to incorporate your recipe making style on my Indian cooking a lot... I learnt how to use a vegetable without wasting its nutritional value from you... Right now my breakfast or dinner recipes will definitely have lots of veggie... Thanks for inspiring me... Bye bye Matane.. 😀

Is there a fresh curry powder recipe without all the preservatives? The ones I see at the store have so many ingredients that don’t look good for you. Thank you for any recommendations!

Japanese curry is the most common dinner in my house. I usually make it with curry roux but when I have time and energy I make it from scratch. Very excited to try a new approach and a new type of curry. Also happy mother's day! Edit: the flowers your children gave you are called carnations. It sounds to me like the Japanese name is an adaptation of the English name.
@MiwasJapaneseCooking3 жыл бұрын
Do you make a curry from the scratch??? so good!!! I do usually combine curry powder and roux, but don't do from the scratch!! you just motivate me to make one! yes! I said carnations in Japanese!! haha it sounds so different even though it's the same word!

My daughter made something at school and bought a nail polish fom me :) Carnation is the same in English, in Dutch we call them anjers Never had a miso curry with tofu. i wonder if my daughter will like it. We all like kare raisu (made with curry roux). I do have to look for a less spicy curry powder here. I have an English curry powder mix but that's on the spicy side. I'm always too lazy to drain the tofu with a weight so I usually use the microwave, but it's really hot when it comes out.
@MiwasJapaneseCooking3 жыл бұрын
that's sweet😆😆😆Its very thoughtful to give you a nail polish together with handmade one💓💓 curry powder I have is also pretty spicy😓I usually use a bit and add grated apple or something sweet to balance out! Sorry for the late response as I dosed off with kids😭

UK front and centre! I kept getting emails about Mother's day gifts etc and I panicked that I had forgotten it, but I hadn't because our Mother's Day was back in March lol.
@MiwasJapaneseCooking3 жыл бұрын
you have a mother's day in March??? is that for yourself or all of people in UK?
@3lmodfz3 жыл бұрын
@@MiwasJapaneseCooking yes the UK is different to other places. I think Europe is the same as us as well. "The date changes every year because, in the UK, Mothering Sunday first began as a church tradition, and it takes place three weeks before Easter on the fourth Sunday of Lent. ... Because the dates of Lent and Easter change each year, based on the lunar calendar, the date of Mother's Day changes too."

Few years ago i grinded finely few types of dry seaweed i had and.. it came out as an AMAZING blend to put in almost every dish (besides soups, because it will ruin the color and look weird - but i tried it anyways:D) Edit: lately i've heard from a Korean that sesame oil shouln't be used for anything but finishing the taste.. To be honest, I have been using it both ways and really wonder - how do Japanese find it?
@MiwasJapaneseCooking3 жыл бұрын
wow! That's a great idea to grind different types of seaweed!! it must be a flavor packed! I've never done that before! I also heard that sesame oil should not to cook with high heat. but in Japanese recipe, there are lots of recipe calling for the sesame oil to cook with high heat like a simple stir fry. Now I'm trying to use only for the finishing touch with a few exception like today's recipe! haha Not perfect but trying!
