Great pine another year or two it will be ready for a pot. Love it !

Thank you! Though the plan is to stay there for at least 3 years, get some thickness and age, but you never know how pines respond and grow... Cheers!

thx 4 scharing, it might be more comfortable to plant in a raised container, like some people do with vegitables... some asian bonsai grovers doing this on youtube too^^

Yes it might, though I've already chosen the traditional model of growing straight in the ground and I'll stick to it as long as I'm able to work on them, mainly because I'm planning on planting more than a thousand trees. Thank you!

why do you allow the wire to cut into these so much? You don't think it looks ugly afterwards?
@ArkefthosBonsai Жыл бұрын
For young plants in development, especially pines that will eventually create tough bark, I don't mind. For the specific one in this video, I just missed it until now, the next wiring of the tree. Still I believe this will look ok in 5 years. Cheers!

I know the problem of wiring trees in the ground. I’m waiting for a Japanese maple I have in the ground to have the leaves change color. Then I will prune and wire it while on my knees like you were. But I have a 70 yr old back so I’m not looking forward to it. :P

I hope your maple is, or will be a quality tree and that it totally worths the effort! For a maple it would be slightly better to build the trunk you want, prune all the branches and start all of the branching from scratch, once in a pot and can be handled. Unless it is a beast... Have a great week Bob!

How are you cultivating nebari? Do you have a mesh or pot in ground?
@ArkefthosBonsai10 ай бұрын
This tree is planted on top of a ceramic tile as long as it is in the ground. It is visible in the previous videos of this tree. One is the second video I uploaded ever, showing the tile I placed in the hole before planting the tree. The other is a year ago, when I transfered the tree to it's current location, performing nemawashi in the same time. Most if the tree I plant in the ground for development, sit on a ceramic tile. Cheers!

@@ArkefthosBonsai you probably have pretty porous soil, I have too much clay in my soil to allow the roots radiate out nicely with just a tile. Beautiful site!
@ArkefthosBonsai10 ай бұрын
@digitaldaemon74 thank you! No, my soil is red clay as well. In some beds I have put amendments like sand and bark but in some I have not. Still, trees perform great and I remove the clay in steps when it's time for a pot.

Most definitely John! In the next pine styling Ill try do a close up of the apex forming, though it is difficult to capture on camera efficiently. I do have some videos showing wiring and placing from up close. kzbin.info/www/bejne/hIanfKydqKpke7ssi=lB11s947QNcmdhLH kzbin.info/www/bejne/oanRkpuwfr10aKMsi=jMo2EWZsXg-OwvMZ Have a great day!
