[10:57] Note: This only works, because 綺麗 (きれい) is a な-adjective. You cannot put a だ after an い-adjective! The sentence "楽しいだよ" (It's fun) is wrong because 楽しい is an い-adjective and you can't put a だ after it. Therefore you have to say "楽しいよ".

Hi Misa. Are you planning on doing more advanced lessons in the near future? I'm already on N4 level and there's not many videos of you for this level and beyond. Your videos have been really helpful so far, and I would love to continue my studies using your videos. Thanks ;-)
@GabrielMPF5 жыл бұрын
Umm. Not sure if that's her reason for not having more advanced lessons. After all, there's so much beginner stuff you can cover, and sooner or later she needs to cover more advanced topics or she will run out of things to talk about. I'm sure I'm not the only one feeling this way.
@GabrielMPF5 жыл бұрын
@@Re3iRtH Well, it's been over 3 and a half years since her very first video, so I hate to admit it, but you might be on to something there. I hope that's not the case, and that she will soon "graduate" to more advanced content, but at this pace, I wouldn't hold my breath. It might also be that she's not that comfortable talking about advanced topics. And that's OK. Hell, I am a Portuguese native and I couldn't do what she does teaching Portuguese, so I respect her for that. Just do what you feel good about.
@fay22125 жыл бұрын
@@GabrielMPF I think it has less to do with money and more as herself as a teacher. Not that she can't teach at a higher level. She almost certainly could but when it comes to language, teachers tend to stick to teaching one level. It's why the teachers are different in school. Some teachers prefer or are more comfortable teaching early students. Some people prefer to teach more advanced people. As an English teacher, I know I prefer to teach people that are not absolute beginners. I prefer people that understand a decent amount but want to learn the more in depth side of it. I could teach beginners but it's not my style.

What about past tense with "it seems like?"
@grantbalmer69515 жыл бұрын
Is this why people joke around using らしい as well? For example, when you say 日本人らしい or アメリカ人らしい、are you basically saying "I've heard Bob is an American..." when it's already very obvious? Could you explain the difference between -みたい and -何々のよう? Sometimes I can tell that I should use one or the other, but directly translating them, they both mean "like something." ありがとうみさ先生!
@petresgaminghaven87665 жыл бұрын
In an earlier video she explained that 日本人らしい and アメリカ人らしい means "stereotypically Japanese / American"
@grantbalmer69515 жыл бұрын
@@petresgaminghaven8766 Sorry I wasn't super clear. I know that らしい means "stereotypically X." I'm just curious if this grammar point is used in a joking manner because you are technically saying, "I heard X," in a situation where it is very obvious. For example, if I order a double big mac at a McDonald's and someone says, "アメリカ人らしいですね," it's kind of humorous because it's like saying "I heard he's an American..." in a situation where I'm fulfilling a strong American stereotype.
@petresgaminghaven87665 жыл бұрын
Oh, I see. Idk I get confused when one word could have two meanings like that. I'm still pretty sure that would mean "he's stereotypically American isn't he?". But I'm not japanese so I can't be certain.

Hello Misa, I love what you do and I would love to show my support, but I do not like Patreon as Patreon has declared itself the morality police against many other users. Might be a cultural thing but i strongly dislike censorship of anykind. If you could use any other form of payment processor I would be glad to help. Notable Patrons such as Sam Harris has deleted his account, and I believe Jordan Peterson has also. This could result in a cascading effect as people who donated to their accounts, may have also deleted their accounts and stopped donations to you. Thank you.
