I love how the city has this whole area specifically to accommodate these little restaurants - from the space to the electricity to the water. I wonder how much they have to pay for ‘stall/booth’ rental there? All I know is these are some dedicated, hard working people. They get my respect.

I imagine that at age 19 dreaming about being a fulltime KZbinR with your friends with 100K subscribers sounds like more FUN than working at his father's YATAI. But its good that he is willing to help out his father during the pandemic. GOOD LUCK to all of them.

@@334honda Why would they ban gas? Are there not government regulations for safety? What changed to suddenly make gas unsafe? Are the regulators incompetent and gas was never safe? How can the people trust the regulators if they were wrong all this time about the safety of gas?

As with any food business, they need to register with the city, obtain various licenses or permits, and pass the inspections from the health department and the fire department. Of course, they have to pay electric bill, water bill and sewerage usage fee. They also must join Yatai union, in other words, only union member can open yatai business, and this union itself police themselves strictly. City inspectors check yatai locations every morning to see if everything is cleaned after business.
