Hey man these videos have been fun to watch. My daughter is 7 too. She was born May 9 2012. She is so smart. She helped me build my last rig back in January and since then she insist that we build her own rig for gaming so she's doesn't have to use mine. I tell her the computer isn't just mine it's both of ours but she says no, no it's yours, you're just nice to let me use it but if I had my own I wouldn't need to borrow yours and then we can play together. Like I said she's smart so maybe we will build something together for christmas

Mate - as a separated father I know it's hard and being away from your child can be a killer inside. All you can do is try to let them know you love them, be there as much as you can and try to be as polite as possible to the ex and never badmouth them in front of the child. As you say, it is what it is. We don't all have total control over our lives and love can come and go, sometimes there's nothing you can do about it other than accept it and move on. I separated 7 years ago but still see mine as much as I can and we used to talk every night but well they're in their teens now and it;s not always cool to talk to Dad every night.. so sometimes we co-op game together, it's relaxing and sometimes they even talk to me about general stuff :)

I've got the motherboard that matches that Dell XPS tower -- it's the 'XPS 435t', I believe. Originally a Socket 1366 system. A really nice case that looks even better in video. Looking forward to seeing what gets done with it. I just restored a previous generation XPS 700-series machine, initially gutted that it was BTX, decided to just stick with what it was and max it out as a crazy high-end Windows XP retro box. Monsterous! Hope you don't feel compelled to bring one of those home from Japan!

I had the glossy display on my old Gateway laptop. I absolutely loved it, and you are correct when you said the colors just pop. I see you get a lot of cases with accommodations for a CD drive. Indicative of past years of course as nobody uses them anymore unless you have some old games or software. Do you actually put a CD drive in there? And the Zalman case has a blank for a floppy drive???? That's downright hilarious!!!

@xyz3604005 жыл бұрын
YES! You get it! I WISH they would start putting out full glossy screens again! I've always loved a good high gloss display, it just makes the colors look so vivid and true. My laptop has a beautiful glossy 1080p 60Hz IPS display and I absolutely love it. I'm now using an external 27" 1440p 144Hz semi-glossy IPS display with 8 bit color (vs the 6 bit of my laptop), and while I can certainly tell the difference in the amount of colors/gradients etc. thanks to the higher bit rate (and I absolutely love the higher refresh rate and resolution of course), I still think that overall things looked better with the glossy display just because of the way it makes things 'pop', especially for games. I've been into glossy displays ever since the old NEC MultiSync LCD1765 which was actually my first ever LCD/flat panel (all CRTs before that) which I bought because they had it set up at Best Buy next to all the other monitors, including the high refresh rate TNs from the likes of Samsung as well as among their more expensive 'professional' displays and whatnot, and it just put every other monitor on their shelves to shame because of the way that glossy glass coating/cover made the colors look. I get that some people have to be concerned with glare and why that isn't ideal in all situations, but if set up properly there really is no issue with reflections/glare, especially if you can set it up the way I have where my only light source for my room is above and behind the monitor which makes it pretty much impossible for there to be any kind of glare on the screen and it looks absolutely amazing. I think HP was one of the last companies to produce a high-end panel with a gloss coating, but they've since stopped making it and I don't know of any others unfortunately, though you can still find some high end laptops with a glossy screen/panel as an option (and they look just as good as the glossy monitors thankfully) but they are becoming less common than they used to be unfortunately. I think a company would do well to produce at least a single model of high-end IPS gaming display with good color accuracy, high refresh rate and a nice clean glossy screen because there is definitely a market for it, at least among those of us who have experienced and enjoy the look of a nice glossy display.

My thoughts on what needs to happen for computer-shops to survive. BIG shops in any city (just outside the cities like IKEA, to have lower prices for the ground) with all the hardware which you like for good prices (comparable to when you order online) and also a business in buying and selling second-hands given that it would be a lot easier to centralize this (many of us would probably accept lower prices for selling second-hands in return for the convenience). Add some servvice to that, like some courses which they offer (Linux, video-editing, picture-manipulation, networking) and you might get an interesting business model. @TechYESCity , if you scale up then you can get away with lower prices while keeping the same profit margins. You get a much stronger negotiation position and you get lower constant costs per $X sold. Scaling up is the only way out, that is for sure, the rest can be debated.
