Loved this series. I lived in Japan for 14 years. Akihabara was always the place to go for electronics but it was usually full systems. When I put my first PC together in 2001 I ordered everything from New Egg which was just getting started. However monitors were way too expensive to ship so I went to Akihabara to find my monitor. I was looking for a specific monitor and it took me a while to find a shop that sold it. When I did finally find it they gave me a good deal (paid less than US price brand new) and had it delivered to my door 2 hours outside of Tokyo(that poor delivery guy hauled an 80 pound large awkward box up 2 flights of stairs). I still have that Sony GDM-F520 monitor and it still works like a champ, they don't make them like they used to. Glad to see used and new parts shops popping up there.

If i saw a "Hard off" store in Australia, it would give me an instant "Hard ON" I remember the good old computer swap meets every Sunday back in the 90's and early 2000's. There was always great used and new bargains going around then. I dont think computer swap meets is a thing anymore, well in Australia anyway.

Hell of a deal on a branded x79 board even if it was a gamble. In the future I'd like to look at a used x99 build with server parts but I only need 1 test system with each memory type XD.

No. After 14 months the prices were the same on several items I wanted to buy. Wouldn't even dropp price by $5 but you could get tax free if you spent enough $$. They are too stubborn at hardoff.

Also another score I got was 4x sapphire RX580 4gb brand new w/ warranty $650 total which I’m very happy with.
